Bday party rsvps

Invites were sent 10 days ago. Half of the kids already responded & I'm finding myself so impatient waiting for my rsvp date, which is 1/20. Party is 1/27. Should I send a reminder saying something like "1 week left to rsvp?" I dont throw yearly bday parties so I'm unsure of what others do.

Re: Bday party rsvps

No -wait until the RSVP date. Some people don't respond until the last minute.
It's annoying but you have a date on there so you can't get upset if they don't respond early.

You will find some don't respond at all. At that point you can text and say- hey just need to finalize headcount, can so and so make the party?

Re: Bday party rsvps

People still have almost two weeks to respond. Give them some time and hopefully the majority rsvp.

People have hectic schedules that change, I know I wait because I don't want to rsvp Yes to then change it to no. For example, I found out just yesterday that I have to go to FL for work during the time of your party. If someone like me had rsvp'd Yes to the party, I would've had to text back and change it.

Agree with pp's. You put the date on there and people always wait until the last minute. Also, if this went out to your childs class expect that some people will not rsvp at all. I just assumed that meant a no. I never contacted anyone to find out why they didnt answer me.

Yes, that's standard right? If someone doesn't rsvp, I'll assume it's a no.

I find people on here sometimes say to reach out after the RSVP date to ask -- as they dont want to be cut short with goodie bags etc if someone just shows up. I can't be bothered with that. If you don't rsvp you are a no in my book!

I tend to RSVP either right away or on the date it’s due. You will probably get lots of responses in those last few days. Wait until much closer to send a reminder.

i would start reaching out to people a day or 2 before the RSVP date. especially if you sent the invites out in school. sometimes they don't make it home- so its not really the parents being slackers HAHA
my son turned 8 in november and we invited his whole class, i sent the invites into school. There is a girl he always talks about playing with at recess and the mom seems like the type that would be on the ball with this kind of stuff. so when it got closer i reached out to her. turns out she never got the invite! so sometimes its not the parents fault LOL so i wouldn't feel bad reaching out to them a day or 2 before the date you put on there...

Wait til a day before the RSVP date and send out a reminder then.

I’ve had variable rates for my January parties. From less than 50% to 100%. Makes it hard to plan

You gave them a date for a reason. Wait until the date to reach out.

I always check when RSVP is not responded too.
I actually asked a friend last week,
Me- Are you bringing XXX to XXX birthday party?
friend- She wasnt invited.
Me- Yes she was. I was told the whole class was invited.
Friend then asks child.. Where is the invitation for XX birthday?
Child- Oh, I ripped it up. I didnt want it.

Embaressing for me because she really didnt know.
The Friend was so grateful because she wanted to inform parent child was not going.

Absolutely wait for the RSVP date. In the future, put the date earlier if you want to know earlier.
