I truly cannot stand any of them.
If Kate goes into one more dramatic monologue that could have been two sentences I'm going to lose my mind.
Randall and Beth are BOTH two of the most selfish people ever. He should have dropped out of the race when his wife told him how much of a strain it was putting on the family. And Beth needs to put this dream of dancing in it's place. How the heck are they affording their lifestyle on those salaries?
Why doesn't Rebecca stand up for Miguel? Why is it ok for her to act like he's just a consolation prize? They show flashbacks and he was AMAZING to the entire family, but especially her. They don't deserve him.
I'm getting so sick of this family.

I absolutely loved this episode. I can relate to Beth on a lot of ways with what she is saying.
Too many times, the woman bends in a marriage going along with what her husband is doing next And Then look back on X amount of years and resent him for it. Even though he doesn’t make you bend, it’s your choice but still when nobody’s bending, you bend. It was a strong episode for sure

Yeah, I think it's more a power struggle dynamic with them. They both want to control. I def. relate to them as well. It is similar to real life scenarios but it's just hard to flesh out in a show. I mean, I see both of their sides and can sympathize yet at the same time it is easy to be frustrated by them. I think Beth at the end of the episode is missing her youth and maybe thinking what if... it's hard to go the way life wants to take us and be fully ok with it and now feel regretful of who we've become and to blame our partner for that. But Randall is nothing but loving and bends over backwards for her when she communicates... so there is this strange dynamic there that is so true to life but very hard to watch and almost too sensitive to admit is real. We'd rather judge it as selfish or whatever else. It's hitting buttons.

I thought the same. I felt that statement was going to have to do with them getting together in the end.
I think Sophie had Kevin’s baby and didn’t tell him. Maybe that’s what she meant by him always getting what he wants.

No I think she found out she was pregnant after he left the last time, but didn’t tell him.

I've never been a fan of Beth, and while I see her point about always bending, I couldn't stand her in the flashbacks. She was awful on their first date and then turning down all his proposals. She says he is a lot and she doesn't want to be consumed by him, but I think it's the other way around; she is a lot to handle. She is the one that is always changing her mind about what she wants.

Yes! I was so surprised by his happy im going to marry her reaction to the first date! She was so mean and dismissive when he was so cute and sweet and just trying to get to know her. He didn't know if she would like fancy or nachos... and it was like beth was trying to always change HIM for her benefit, like take off the jacket, etc. etc.
I agree.

While I did love Randall on the first date I'd have to disagree. Remember back when you were 18 and in college? I think Randall was sweet, but she was acting like a normal 18 year old girl who wasn't that into him... yet.
I do see both their sides, but I LOVE Randall and see how much he puts his heart into everything, which can be a good and bad thing.
Beth can also be tough like her mother. They were raised differently.
Also, I love my inlaws, but every Sunday to spend with his mom is a lot too. LOL

Finally caught up!
Interesting theory about Sophie having had a baby. I really can not stand Zoe. I find her so self righteous.
As for Beth and Randall, that last episode really resonated with me. I get her side completely and it sucks. I feel like women always bend and sacrifice for their husbands and kids because of traditional gender roles.
I find Rebecca a little annoying. She always has some dumb anecdote to share.

Great episode last night.
I still have so many questions.
Looks like Nicki goes to live with Kevin in the future.
Rebecca is dying.
Kevin has a kid.
Still wonder where Kate is and the girls.
Love Deja. She's too smart!
Glad Beth and Randall are together and work it out.
Anyone else cringe when they were at the hospital and Rebecca handed the coffee over the baby?

I did enjoy the episode last night.
I am annoyed with the writers making us think Beth and Randal were divorced.
It’s weird Kevin hasn’t mentioned Nicky in the last few episodes.
Where is Miguel?
I cringed with a lot of things with the baby. Kevin walked in the apartment after traveling and no one thought to ask him to wash his hands.

If we piece together the time line of "Old Randal and the gang" He called Toby when he was leaving work with Tessa which means they have to be only hours away if Toby made it there.

The timing never makes sense with this show. They always fly back and forth like it's nothing from East Coast to West. Drives me nuts! LOL
Like when Randall flew to West coast when Kate was in the hospital.
My thoughts are this...
I think they were all at Kevin's in CA. He said at the end of the episode he's moving out West and staying. I think Rebecca, Miguel and Kevin move close to Kate and Toby.
Kevin is doing well and bought a big house, got married (assuming) and had a kid.
Wonder if he married Kate's friend.
I don't think he went back to the old gf.
Randall and Beth flew out west to see Rebecca bc she's not doing well and Kevin took in their Uncle to take care of him and he is doing better and became close with the family, which is why he was by her side.
Randall and Beth are married bc they showed her ring.
Just don't know where Kate and the other daughters are, but who knows. Maybe they're coming.

I thought it was a good season finale.
They were at Kevin's house. When Toby walked in he said "man Kevin's house is huge". So the are back in LA. And it seems he's doing well...lol
Just wish they would let us know where Kate is. Every time they flash forward she isn't mentioned.
What did Rebecca's accident have to do with this episode? Was it just a lead up to them getting ready to say goodbye? Or was it something else?
And I really wanted Kevin and Zoe to work. I liked them together.

I think the flashback hospital scenes were there as a way to parallel and build the suspense for Randall and Kevin etc entering the room to see the old Rebecca.
Seems like she had dementia ?
I thought it was weird that one of the things they asked when they walked in to the house is "Where is he ?" ... "He's already in there with her".. (referring to Nicky"). Why is Nicky that significant that they ask where he is?
I feel like Kevin got back together with Sophie since they showed her in the previous episode and had a child with her.. but maybe thats too easy.

I'm assuming that she has dementia and that is why Randall said "this is Randall, your son". Also, when she had the accident one of the kids asked if she had brain damage. Maybe that's why they put the 2 together in one episode?

That was so good!
I was so surprised to see Nicky!
I think Miguel has already passed away and Kevin is back on the East coast (seems like Randall, Beth, and Tess all came from work).
Also I think Beth had an upgraded engagement ring so maybe things turn around again for them financially (but maybe I imagined that part)?
So curious to see what happens with Kate and Toby! And I'm really hoping Sophie's back in the picture.

I agree with so many of you and your perspectives.
This episode was absolutely fantastic!! Especially from when we realize Randall and Beth are still going strong til the ending. Unbelievable writing !!

I was trying to figure out the accident flashback also and I think it was to show how the family is so lost without her- remember what Jack said to the nurse when they went back up at night to see her and what Kate said to her. She is the strong one they all look to and now, in her older state, they will need to find their strength for her.
I think there is more to Randall and Beth. In the end, when she was older, her wedding rings looked different than they did in the beginning of the episode when she was younger. Not the big, flashy diamond, but a simpler band.
I also think Kate and Toby are divorced and that baby Jack has some health issues.

I think Rebecca has not been herself for some time and it was a foreshadowing to dementia.
Remember the hospital waiting area, she was very spaced out (although that could have been nerves or PTSD from when Jack died). Also, the fact that she took such detailed notes in the NICU about baby Jack and breathing could be her overcompensating for her memory starting to fail.
Another theory, is that the car accident could have caused a concussion or other brain damage. Randall did say "Does Mom have brain damage?"
If someone gets a hit to the head in their youth, the brain damage can show up much later (think football players)
