Great Wolf Lodge vs. Kalahari
Have only been to Great Wolf. Going in November. Son enjoyed Magic Quest there. DS9 is not a big thrill seeker. Distance? What does Kalahari have aside from the water park? Which do you prefer and why?

Re: Great Wolf Lodge vs. Kalahari
My boys are 12, so they have outgrown the Wolf Lodge. We LOVE Kalahari. We are going again for Thanksgiving. They also have have a zip line there as well.

Re: Great Wolf Lodge vs. Kalahari
We've been to both - we go with a bunch of families from DS's school.
I prefer Kalahari, as does DS. There are bigger/more rides to go on in the water park, and he is adventurous.
There are more and better dining options, imo, at Kalahari.
I like my adult beverages, and there are better options within the Kalahari water park (and in general on the property). But Kalahari has a swim grotto/swim up bar, indoor/outdoor hot tubs, a tiki bar.
I haven't been to Great Wolf in a couple of years, but there was just one bar in the water park, and on the property, not much in terms of food other than the buffet (and the hamburger/chicken finger type fast food stand in the water park).
Kalahari is also a newer property. Great Wolf lodge has more of a "theme" that would appeal to younger kids, and things like the evening story time with characters and the Magic-Quest game. But my DS is older now and doesn't care about that stuff.

I love Kalahari for all these reasons. I love the indoor/outdoor hottub! It's so nice on a cool night to go out there and the steam rises off the hottub and it's just so cool. I love their big yummy drinks in the water park. Definitely makes the day more fun! Good selection of restaurants. the rooms are clean. Not fancy, but clean and newish. I have never been to Great Wolf so I can't compare but we keep going back to Kalahari. I know they opened a 2nd phase recently so there are even more rides. Great mix of stuff for younger kids, older kids and adults!

Great Wolf Lodge vs. Kalahari
We have been to Great Wolf, and my kids still like it there. They love the MagiQuest game!
We haven't been to Kalahari yet, but are really wanting to try it!! FYI, if you sign up for their email list, they send you deals. For instance, Columbus day weekend they have a deal, $199 a night on Friday night and you get $100 game card

Re: Great Wolf Lodge vs. Kalahari
we're going for our 3rd time in november. my kids are: 10, almost 7 and 4.
It's clean. Rides/water areas for all ages. The arcade is great. More food choices (the steakhouse was really good).
