What's up with peeling license plates?

What's up with peeling license plates?
They're defective. If you can prove they're peeling the DMV will send you a new set for free. (20 dollars if you want to keep same number.)

My back license plate has a bump of some sort from water seeping under it. It is still readable though.

I don't think so. There are very few red light cameras where I live upstate (only in the city of Albany) and I see it all the time with the newer plates.

NYS Peeling Plates
I had to get one set replaced. It took about a month, since I wanted to keep the number. Surprisingly, they didnt want us to return the other plates.

What's up with peeling license plates?
I was pulled over & given a ticket for $150 for small peeling in the corner. Numbers & Letters still very legible. Went to DMV where they replaced it for free.. going to court at the end of the month to fight the summons.

That is horseshit and just another way for this state to rape us for money.
We have to have 2 plates where most states have only one.
We have to get an inspection every year where other states are every other year.
Then they give us cheap ass plates to save money and we get FINED for them peeling.
Get the fuk out of here NY.
Add it to the list of reasons I want to leave this shithole of a state.
