top things to do with kids? name yours
I have a week off work and i usually like to do some fun things with the kids (almost 4, 6 1/2 and 10).
What are your top fun things to do with the kids that you usually don't get to do?
1 day we'll go fishing out on a charter boat.
1 day we'll do the Bronx Zoo i think.
We normally do splish splash but i heard that right now half the rides are closed because of lack of staff (college students leaving).
What other fun things are there to do?
-aquarium (we've been a few times)
-LI Game Farm
-CMEE (we live right by it and have been a lot)

Cold spring harbor fish hatchery
Sunken meandow beach- love the park, the beach and the boardwalk there!
We did Coney Island recently on a weekday and my kids (young) had a blast!

We just took the kids to Adventureland, you can see if they still have a groupon for that.
We have done open play at bounce places.
Also, check your local library's museum passes, it might give you some other ideas!

Rock climbing at gravity vault, Adventureland, sands point preserve, Vanderbilt museum and planaterium, NY aquarium coupled with rides at Coney Island, Bronx zoo and we did zip lines at the new Treetop Adventure Park, Central Park Zoo coupled with playgrounds and lunch

I have the week off and Monday we are going to the Sea Glass carousel in battery park then lunch then the math museum. Tues we are going to the beach.

I do not have kids, but my sister has 4. Whenever I go back home, bowling is really popular with them. The Museum of Natural History is also nice; they love the dinosaurs. Hibatchi is fun for kids, too.

We go to Adventureland a lot, but I also have season passes so we’re there just about every weekend. Bowling, laser tag, monster mini golf, and there is this place that I want to take DD out in Centereach (not sure where you’re located) that looks fun—Tiki Action Park.

I went to Belmont Lake state park this weekend they have nice playgrounds and the paddle boat fits 4 it $15 for hour and a half.

Harbes family farm is great!
If you go bowling you can sign them up for free online at kids bowl free.com, and it costs $5 for shoes. You get 2 games a day each kid. It ends on September 3rd though.
Suffolk county farm in yaphank is cute too.

We love the Long Island Children's museum and the Marine Nature Study Area. Atlantis marine world is an all day hike, but it's great. The fish hatchery is awesome, too and there are 2 1/2 hr. Fishing trips for kids out of Port Jeff on the Osprey

This summer we did:
the beach
Adventure Land
Dave & Buster's
parks/splash pads
NY hall of science
norwalk aquarium in CT (about an hour from the queens/nassau) border)
the movies
NYC- Central Park/Museum of Natural History
We wanted to get to the Bronx zoo, but between camp, vacation, and all of the rainy days, we never got there. We are going to go in September or October.

My kids loved the County / Country ( not exactly sure what its called) Fair in Medford. They have batting cages, golf,, paintball, bumping cars, go carts - super clean and nicely laid out. We will definitely go back there once this hot weather cools down a little.
