Daycare cost for 2-full time

Can you please share what you pay for two of your kids in daycare? 45 plus hours a week. Infant and toddler. Trying to get an idea of what is fair.

This would be an in-home daycare situation but open to hearing other scenarios.

Probably about $2,600/month at a large center.

I go to a small daycare center - locally owned, non-chain - and I pay $559/week for a toddler and infant.

I pay a little over $3K a month for an infant and toddler for 10 hours a day. Chat Icon

That's with a sibling discount. This is eastern Nassau in a big center (that I love).

At peak (infant + 3 yo) for FT I was paying $2450 at a large daycare facility. That was a negotiated rate.

I paid $7/hr for one, $10.50/hr for 2 5 years ago. This was at a licensed in home daycare.

My daughter goes to a licensed in-home daycare. They provide all meals and snacks, they are open from 630-6 but my DD is only there from 7:30-4:30, they don't charge me an hourly rate..Right now I am paying $310 a week and my rate goes up each year (they make you sign a contract for each year). If I were to have two I believe they quoted $575 a week.

About $2,500/mo at a center, but it depends on the ages of the kids. The younger they are, the more it costs.

It's funny because in my daycare, they raise my rate each year with each contract- it was actually cheaper for me when my DD was an infant, and you would think it would be the other way around...

I didn't mean it that way. I meant for 2019, an infant costs $1,500/mo and a toddler costs $1,200/mo (for example). I don't mean the same child as they go through each year. Younger children have lower teacher to child ratios, so they charge more.

Daycare cost for 2-full time

Our rate is almost $2500 a month for two kids. While it is a lot of money we have great daycare hours, my kids get 2 meals and snacks per day w/milk, juice water and the teachers are amazing. Money well spent.

I agree. DS just "graduated" day care in June and he's been back twice to visit. He loved the teachers. I never worried about my kids there and he's more than prepared for Kindergarten so I think it was worth the price.

I always said the same- best money ever spent.
Luckily I only had one child though so it wasn't that horrendous.
But worth every penny for the hours she was there- which was 8 am to 6 pm.
I never gave her care there a second thought or worry and she learned so much and got so socialized by being there for 5 years. Her Pre K program there prepared her so well for K that the teachers doing her K assessment all kept asking what Pre K she attended.
I would do it again in a heart beat.

And a bonus- when it's all over and you dont' have that expense any more, you feel rich!
LOL
I was like- ok now what do we do with all this extra cash per month!

Re: Daycare cost for 2-full time

When I had both of my kids in an in-home, licensed and insured day care I paid $500 per week. My kids were an infant and a toddler.

The daycare provided all meals for my toddler. I would supply formula, baby food and diapers for my infant.
