New job search

Happy 4th everyone

So I have been at my current job for over 10 years and now it’s time to move on.
Long story short, My life has changed since I took this job. I am now married and have a 4 year old going into pre-k

Anyway I have spoken w my boss (small agency) about a set amount of days off personal, sick and vaca
We never had a set amout- it was more of ok no one off go, or his snappy mood and he said no or never remembers saying yes! Always drama and stressful

Well that didn’t go over well. With my son starting pre-k I need a calendar so my husband and I can work out the days off w school days off etc ( didn’t work out well) his office his rules!

Anyway, I am in process of updating resume - I am an assistant underwriter for personal lines (HOMEOWNERS, AUTO)
Any tips? Places to look?
Feedback? Advice?
Thanks

Have you looked into banks? Not in a branch but in their back offices. At least you’ll have the major holidays off and then I am sure there is vacation time offered.

How about looking at the major insurance companies with offices in the area? I think State Farm, Liberty Mutual, and GEICO have local offices. There are probably others too. With a large corporation, you'll have a set vacation policy that could make life easier for you

Re: New job search

I work for one of the major insurance companies as staff counsel (not mentioned above) and we have openings coming out soon for claim reps, especially first party medical (no fault). Our office is in Melville (Huntington Quad). PM me for info- we have a Careers section where you can check open listings...
