The Conners
This fall, ABC will air a Roseanne spinoff - The Conners, which will include all prior cast members, except for Roseanne Barr. There will be no “financial or creative involvement” from Roseanne Barr.
Only 10 episodes, so far. I'm not expecting much from this show, really

The Conners
I will watch it out of curiosity but disappointed. But also glad everyone got to keep their job. Just dont think it could go on without Rosanne. Funny Peter Fonda is still allowed in his movie considering what he said was way worse.

I agree with all this. I'm really hoping it does well. Hopefully they have good writers. Wonder how they will handle Roseanne being gone.
And yeah what Peter Fonda said was a pretty disgusting statement and I don't know how he isn't being held responsible for that! I had no idea he had a movie coming out.

I don't think it will do well.
The other characters won't be able to carry the show.
I can't stand the Jackie character, she's just a little too wacky for my taste.

All of this
I will give it a shot because it’s not just Roseanne that I like on the show. I like all the characters. I’m always willing to give something a try before immediately hating it.

Peter Fonda doesn't have anything to lose (a show, etc).

I think the network was still on the hook for the actor's salaries. Even if this show flops, at least they can recoop some of their investment.

i didn't watch the reboot...
my cousin told me that the Roseanne character was an uber driver in the reboot, so they'll write her off the show by killing her in a car accident.
i also read that they might move the show more towards Darlene and her being a single-mom.

From what I hear its a very small part, but they wont delete it because sony says it will affect the movie to much. excuses excuses.

I am still watching. Mainly bc there's not too much on at the time and easy in the background while kids get ready for bed. LOL
I do like it. Still funny and I like the realness of it, but still think it's a bit over the top. Everyone wants to have a baby after 40! LOL I can't even imagine. LOL

I'm annoyed they haven't mentioned Jackie's son and Jerry. They mentioned Jerry was on some fishing trip in the first few episodes of the reboot and now they wrote him off completely. They haven't mentioned Andy at all, it's as if Jackie never had a kid. Originally they had said if they got another season they'd bring Jerry and Andy back. Guess they changed their minds.
Have they mentioned how Mark died?

Mark died of an OD I believe.
As for Andy, I read an interview with the producers and they said that he is one of the things that happened during the last season of the original Roseanne, when we found out it was a book she was writing, that didn't really happen. They are choosing to pretend he never exisited. They said in same interview that we may see Jerry.

Yeah Andy was definitely born before the last season. That makes no sense.

I totally agree and I remember that he was born at least 2 years before it ended, so I totally don't understand why they are pretending he doesn't exist! You could've still had Jacky be the flighty aunt she is...Andy would be grown and could've moved away, we didn't have to see him often. Now I would've been fine if they pretended Jerry never happened, that wasn't needed. If I can find the interview I'll post it. It actually really annoyed me, lol!
