I swear, some people are just so rude!
I was in Target last night - pushing a cart through the different aisles. I come around one corner and there is a cart with a little girl sitting in the main (big) part of the cart. Her parent is nowhere to be seen and I don't want to move the cart without the parent around. A minute later the mother comes and moves the cart so I can get by - doesn't say sorry or anything, but ok, whatever. So then I am still in that area, looking at some merchandise when I hear the little girl (maybe 5-6 yrs old) ask her mother about buying the pillow that was in the cart, with the kid laying all over it. The mother says, "well, I'm not going to buy it now that you put your feet all over it." So, she's going to put it back on the shelf for someone else to buy????? I gave her a nasty look and walked away, but seriously, what the hell is wrong with people??? So self centered and obnoxious. I just can't deal sometimes!

This is just a prime example of why I am slowly withdrawing myself from society.
Because it's either getting worse, or I'm getting older and losing patience for morons and assholes

I swear, some people are just so rude!
The only thing about this scenario that is surprising to me is that the kid was only 5 or 6. I usually see 12 year olds in the back of carts. Any older and they’d be able to crack open a beer back there.

My son is almost 7 and goes in the back of the shopping cart. Why? He is autistic and a runner. This is the only way that I can keep him somewhat under control when out shopping. If he did not go in there, he would be all over the store. And often I have no option but to take him with me to the store.

I don’t mean 7 year olds. I have seen literal teenagers chatting on their cell phones in carts with their knees pressed into their chins. Once I saw a girl painting her nails in the cart.
And they are ALWAYS blocking the aisle. If they weren’t blocking the aisle I’d just laugh but no, they’re always right smack dab in the middle and usually giving their mom an attitude.

I was just going to write this exact reply except my son is 9 and sits in the cart as well otherwise I could not get shopping done because I would be chasing him!
