Selling items privately(without friends & family seeing)
Is there a way to sell items on Facebook without family & friends seeing? It seems like if someone I know posts something it shows as a notification to me. I have several items I’d like to sell (some are gifts from family) but of course wouldn’t want them to see or find out.

i don't know if it can be done on FB.
when i sell stuff online, i go with offerup.
at the end of posting your item for sale, there is an option to share it. i never share. it stays only on offerup.
ETA: if your family members are on the app, make sure you don't allow them to follow you

You could always create a separate FB account just for non-family related things.

The group you are selling it on has to be private and unless they are a member of that group they wont see it. You also have to make sure that you don't post the same item in marketplace, anyone can see that.

this if they are no in the group and they group is not set to public they won't be able to see anything. Marketplace everyone sees.
It would probably be easier to just crate a new account just for selling because I think in almost every group I know at least one person in there

If you list something for sale on Facebook marketplace, at the end it gives you the option to share your post on your personal FB page . You can just decline and I believe it won't show to your friends/family.

I tried this a while ago and it was so complicated I gave up. I just assume everything on FB is public.

If your friends and family members are part of the buy/sell group, then they will see it.
I occasionally get notifications if a person on my friend list had listed items for sale in a buy/sell group I'm in (That they're in as well).
