Kiddie Academy Floral Park

Anyone send their kids here? Looking for any feedback good or bad. I know it's only been open for less than a year. Feel free to PM me if you'd be more comfortable sharing. Thanks!!

heard it's $$$ but that's all I really know lol... I'm a teacher and heard kiddie academy doesn't offer great rates to us because we're off in the summers and on holidays so I stuck with my current sitter instead. Good luck!

Not that location, but we checked out another 2 other locations and loved them. I didn't find it any more expensive than other centers. We didn't go with them ultimately because of location.

This isn't necessarily true. In fact, I found Kiddie Academy to be more flexible than most daycare centers/franchised chains. My daughter goes to the Farmingdale location and we love it there. They offer 2 vacation weeks a year, in which if you decide to pull your child out for the full week, you pay 50% tuition. In addition, Kiddie Academy was the ONLY licensed center that would allow teachers to pull their child out for the entire summer, with no payment (besides the money they already have in escrow), and still guarantee their spot in September when you return. You should check at each location since I'm sure the rules differ -- they are each individually owned.

Kiddie Academy definitely isn't the only licensed center that offers these things, just wanted to point this out. Definitely ask other centers their policy. I know for a fact that another fully licensed large child care center close to the location you're speaking of that doesn't charge extra to pull out for the summer. Not sure where you're getting your info . . .

Thanks. They came highly recommended from a trusted family friend and when my mom toured she loved it but figured I'd just triple check here. And I agree I did not find them any more expensive than the other centers in the area.

Let me clarify. Of the daycare facilities that DH and I personally visited, Kiddie Academy Farmingdale was the only one that was flexible with summer arrangements for a teacher. I'm not saying anyone charged extra to pull the kid out for the summer, but many of them won't guarantee your child's spot in September if you pull them out and/or reduce their schedule to part-time. Tutor Time in Melville was one of the places that at the time we were looking to register (3 years ago), said they couldn't guarantee a spot in September if we pulled out for summer. My friend who currently sends her daughter there says that requests for the summer are now taken into consideration on a case-by-case basis. Some teachers may be fine with that uncertainty -- I'm not. I want to know 100% and have it in writing in the contract that my child will be guaranteed a spot in September when I return back to work.
