We took the breakaway but no kids. We visited elbow beach and did some shopping. We also visited the caves. The beaches are so pretty, we didn’t do much else.

Bermuda Cruise

We are going on the escape next month too! I think we’re just going to beach it everyday.

Re: Bermuda Cruise

I just bumped an old thread with my Bermuda review on traveling with young kids for you. At the museum, you can have your kids swim, or sit with dolphins. We went back to Bermuda and privately booked it for a lot less than the cruise wanted. It is the museum right where you dock. We opted for the one where the kids wear the wetsuit and sit in the water but not swim. I think it is the best value and gives the most actual dolphin time. If you swim, half the time is spent learning things and you are with the dolphins for a much shorter time than actually sitting in the water.

I think my kids are to young to sit with the dolphin

Their prices and added fees have gotten out of hand. I guess someone’s gotta pay for all these mega ships they keep constructing lol. We will be moving to NC this summer and I’m sooo excited that we will be able to drive to FL for cruises and have tons of cheaper options.

I'm so surprised about all the nickle and diming on many of the cruises! We have only ever done Disney, where nothing is extra. We are booked on the brand new Carnival Horizon for Bermuda and so far, I'm not seeing much that is extra, other than drinks. We booked in their Family Harbor area, so we can use that lounge that has some drinks in it I've seen (I'm not an alcohol drinker). BUT, we also booked a cruise on RCCL for next February break, and I'm blown away at all of the extra fees!

Disney I can’t speak of but I know how expensive their cruises are so I’m going to go out on a limb and say that all their extra fees are already in the price lol.

I haven’t sailed on carnival in about 10 years. I may have to go back to that line and check it out.

RCCL is pretty expensive IMO. They never do “free” drink packages either.

On my NCL sailing, we got kids sail free and free drinks. I had this on my last cruise and I just can’t go back to having no perks. I’m really not sure why cruising has become so expensive. I started cruising in 2004 and to be honest, I miss the smaller ships.

This is true about Disney, but honestly, I would rather just pay for it in the fare than be nickle and dimed once you get on board!

Re: Bermuda Cruise

I have been to the zoo/aquarium.

When we did the excursion we did the caves and aquarium together.

Because we took a lot of time getting to the caves via their bus... We literally had 15 minutes to do the zoo/aquarium. It is small but definitely needed a little more than 15 minutes.

It is cute for kids.
