I heard this morning on the radio that all the talk about that is just fluff and Prince's family actually gave JT the sound bytes of his voice to use for the performance.

i wasn't paying attention. i was being a hostess. but from what i saw, i was not impressed.
at work, this morning, people are saying that he had a dad-bod. lol

I enjoyed it.
I felt kinda bad for him leading up to it. Everyone wanting to know if he was going to have a special guest. Would Janet be there? Would there be an N'ync reunion? Like he couldn't do it alone. If they wanted more than JT they would've hired other acts.
And I know I'm in the minority but I didn't think the tribute to Prince was needed. Prince wasn't a fan of them and he had his time. You can't compare the 2.
I don't know. I tuned in to see JT. Not everyone else. If he had a guest great. If not I'm not going to to think less of him. And I also don't need to see crazy stunts. At some point it becomes a circus. Not to mention I didn't pay for it. So yeah..who am I to say it sucked
Side note...what about Pink?!! I thought she did amazing!

They may have gotten “approval” from his family, but Prince has been directly quoted from interviews saying he’s not a fan of digital editing to create a performance with a deceased artist. So I do think it was a bit disrespectful from all sides.

I also don’t think Prince would have wanted it. JT threw shade at Prince twice in the past. Once in a song and once at an award show, lowering the mic stand for prince.

It was underwhelming. I like JT but it was kinda boring, all he did was run around all over the place. The soundtrack was off and he looked homeless. Nothing really special happened except the Prince tribute. Honestly, Gaga was better.

It was alright, when he projected Prince on the screen I knew it was over and that was his big wow for the show. JT was good but it was boring.
ETA: is this his first time performing since booby gate? I was assuming that is why he was playing it super safe/boring.
I was totally expecting Britney too during Cry Me a River, such a missed opportunity!
JT is very talented, but I kept waiting for a surprise guest to show up.

I agree completely. They hired JT and we got JT, doing JT. He sang (no lip singing) danced, and did the whole bit. Would I have loved some special guests?? YES. But overall liked it.
