HELP - NO HEAT 1ST FLOOR -NEED REC'S

Since New Years Eve

we called someone who was supposed to get back today and we called them this morning and still not hearing back.

its not the boiler but the air handler - the fan that blows the air is not working or the motor for that. It's the same that is used for both hear and air

we are lucky we have heat on 2nd floor but afraid pipes will freeze if it goes on any longer - need rec's

This is a complete shot in the dark but here goes.

If the blower isn't blowing but you still have heat but ONLY on the second floor that tells me the heater is working but only the highest part of the system is receiving heat.

The heat is just following the natural path.

First thing I would always try is just checking the breakers and if they are fine, cut the power off to the whole system and then wait for about a minute then restore power (aka turn it off and on).

If that fails the only way to possibly get heat to the lower part of the house is to close the vents on the second floor. This will allow the lower vents to fill with hot air and the second floor will be heated regardless.
