Best Orchard - Apple Picking in NY/NJ?
We are looking to go this weekend but don't want to deal with the crazy crowds out East along Sound Avenue. A friend goes every year to Maskers in Warwick. Any other suggestions for great, kid-friendly orchards within 1.5 hour drive? Bonus if they have a petting zoo, pumpkins, corn maze, etc. Thanks!

Just an FYI - Warwick gets pretty crazy on weekends too with the apple picking crowd.

I don't know how far you want to drive, but our absolute favorite is Pennings in Warwick, NY or Apple Dave's also in Warwick. Both have petting zoos, food, ice cream, tractor rides, mazes, etc. Apple Dave's is also a winery and they have a puppet show for the kids. Very cute places.

I live in NJ close to a major apple orchard. I would strongly recommend going during the week to any of those types of farms. It is so much better, less crowded, and easier to navigate.

We just went to Weeds in Marlboro NY and it was great ! A lot of apples and also had vegetables, grapes and flowers to pick
They also have wine and beer tastings and really good food

Best Orchard - Apple Picking in NY/NJ?
Maskers is insane because you have to drive into the orchard. I'm not a fan. But we went to Pennings on Saturday and enjoyed it. We got there at 130 and it wasn't bad at all. Much better apples than LI.

Went to Barton orchards last weekend, wasn't too crowded but it was also almost 90 degrees...lol...they have a ton of things for the kids to do

Do any of these places also have Pumpkins? I would like to do both on the same day. Any other ideas to turn it into a all-day adventure?

Best Orchard - Apple Picking in NY/NJ?
If you're interested in NJ, Terhune in Princeton and Alstede in Chester are awesome. Tons of stuff for the kids to do. That said, you'd need to get there super early if you're going on a weekend because it gets crazy. We only go on a weekday so we can enjoy it without the insanity.
