Disney Burn Out

Is 6 back to back full days at the park going to be awful? I do not want to miss anything and I want to visit all 4 parks, so I feel like I need 6 full days to ensure I will get to everything important to me. or maybe revisit the few things we really loved. But I'm also worried that we were so exhausted after just 2 back to back days at Magic Kingdom that we will regret the trip and by the 3rd-5th day we will be over it. Any advice for someone short on time and money (its not like I can add an extra day or two just to hang out at the hotel for a break) but yet wants to see so many different things and only has the busy summer season to go?!?

In a word - yes. Unless you and your family are HUGE Star Wars fans, I would skip Hollywood Studios. Most of the park is under construction and many attractions are closed. I would either do three days, one day off, and then two days - or the other way around, two days, one day off, then three days. Our very first trip to Disney we did that way; we were completely miserable by the end, and we could barely walk.

I think 6 full days is a lot, especially with kids. And in the summer.

I would prioritize what you want to see and do Maybe do some mornings in the park, take off the afternoon (when it's the hottest) and go back in the evening some days.

That sounds like torture to me! We only ever do a full day at MK. The rest are half days at the other parks and then the pool. That's all my kids even want to do and they're always zonked after that one full day at MK.

ETA: Disney is so huge that IMO it's just not possible to see everything without having a vacation that isn't vacation like at all. And the kids don't miss what they don't know about!

I think 6 days is totally doable! You don't have to do 6 FULL days. I'm sure at the beginning you will go all day, but take afternoon breaks to relax by the pool. It really helps re-charge everyone! Having the extra days there allows you to go at a slower pace but still make sure you get everything done but not have to go from open to close with no breaks.

Schedule a sit down meal, go to Disney Springs, relax by pool, all these things help relax while still being able to hit up all the parks across 6 days. In my mind, the best part of so many days is you have 6 mornings and 6 nights. Morning right when the park opens you can get SO much done.... we have gone in the morning before, and done everything we wanted by like noon. So then we eat lunch, go back to hotel and relax by pool, and go back to the parks in the evening. Nights, you can make sure you see any of the nighttime shows you may want to see.

For my family I think 5 park days is perfect...2 MK, one(and not even full) at each of the other 3 parks, then you can have one pool/rest/Disney springs day if you have 6 days. Our last trip was just 4 parks days and we did one at each park(again not full days) and I was really missing the second MK day.

I would have no problem with 6 park days, but we aren't at the park from 8am until 11pm. Taking my 3 little ones to the pool is not relaxing at all.

So.................I am a Disney addict. We go for ten days and excepct for the travels days we spend EVERY SINGLE DAY in the parks pretty much open to close. It's completely doable. You take breaks, relax, and when you're there so much there is no pressure to run around to fit it all in. My feeling is, I can rest and swim at home, when I am in Disney spending all of that money...............I want to be in the parks!Chat Icon

ETA - I go to Disney Springs on our arrival day.

Re: Disney Burn Out

Meh - it all depends on YOU and YOUR family.
We did 5 back to back days, including a day at what's now called Disney Springs and survived.
It was 100% worth it. (and he was a 5 year old, no stroller, in August.)

I think it really depends on you.
We never go for more than 2 days, but go often. Hubby and kids get burned out... but we don't feel like we miss anything with just 2 days... but that is US
Go to whatever you think works for you... and have a back up plan if you get exhausted.

If you are going in the Summer heat, you will need to take breaks...that would be torture not to, and I'm a HUGE Disney fan. Do the parks morning...go swim in afternoon, and go back in the evening. I would not do two back to back days at the same park. Alternate...i.e. MK, Epcot, MK, AK, HS, or whatever. We usually do MK every other day

We went for 8 days last August and did a 6 day park hopper + waterparks. DD was just over 2 y/o at the time. I didn't feel like it was too much.

Re: Disney Burn Out

I'll agree with the majority and say it's possible depending on a few factors.

Like others have said you'll need a lot of breaks in the heat of summer. (I hate the heat enough to prevent me from going in the summer at all but I know many have experienced low crowds in late August.)

I also think it depends on your proximity to the parks. If you're staying on property, you could have a wait for the buses and then sometimes they make multiple stops. If you're staying off property, you have to drive to the park, have what might be a long walk or tram ride through the parking lot, and for Magic Kingdom, you have to take the monorail or the ferry from the TTC. All that makes it even more exhausting so the closer you are the more you will be able to comfortably do. The trip where we went gangbusters was the one when we were a seven minute walk from Epcot but that was a bit of a splurge.

Re: Disney Burn Out

I personally think that is a lot. I would rather do a rest day or do other things in Orlando.

That being said, 6 days is probably fine if you don't go all day. We never go all day though. It's too tiring. We go at rope drop and come back to the hotel after lunch. Some days we will go back to see fireworks or some shows. Often we only go for 4-6 hours per day. That is our sweet spot.

Re: Disney Burn Out

Not in my book! That's what I am there for. Not full days, but at least half days every day!

I think 5 days is doable. Maybe leave the next two days to do extra stuff but don't make it full days.
We did a seven day trip. Arrival day we used to relax. We then did 5 full days. Two for Magic Kingdom, one day for Epcot, Hollywood Studios, and Animal Kingdom. My kids were much smaller and we were at a slower pace. We initially wanted to only do one full day at Magic Kingdom but we needed the extra day. I only scheduled one character breakfast. I pretty much let my kids sleep in until about 8 or 9 so that they could be rested. Many days we came in late the night before. I wasn't committed to getting to the park at opening time. I just knew it wasn't realistic for us. We also went in February but it was unseasonably hot. It was over 80 degrees each day.

We go every year for 6 days. We do not do theboarks open to close. We take breaks at the pool and sit down for meals. Makes it so much easier
