Alternative hotel to Eden

A few families and i are staying at Eden resort for 2 nights, We would like a 3rd but not looking to break the bank.

We def want Eden for 2 nights (going to Dutch and want to play at the hotel)
And stay at another local motel/hotel close by
but not as pricey- just so we can go to Amisgh town, outlets, etc

The total for 3 nights at Eden was $669

Anyone have suggestions?

We love Hilton Doubletree Lancaster.
Great pool for the kids and beautiful grounds.
Breakfast isn't included but their breakfast package is worth it. The buffet at the restaurant is very nice.

Re: Alternative hotel to Eden

I stayed at Hampton Inn Lancaster last month. Really nice, good breakfast, and outdoor pool. It was recently renovated.

I've stayed at the Steamboat too and it was nice.

I also liked the Best Western Plus, Intercourse Village.

Your Eden stay is $223 a night. Yeah, you can get cheaper, but I don't think moving to any of these is THAT much cheaper. Maybe saving $50 a night. It all depends on dates and availability.

Re: Alternative hotel to Eden

We go to Lancaster pretty frequently and I've stayed at many different hotels.

I love the steamboat inn but I wouldn't compare it to Eden. There's a very nice indoor pool, a duck pond, and a small playground but no spray park, no poolside wait service, no putting green or ping-pong etc.

I think at eden you're really paying for the high level of service, the resort type amenities, and the spray park.

We've only done Eden once and it was when my son was recovering from an injury and couldn't do Hershey or Dutch Wonderland at all. It was very nice but I wouldn't spend that kind of money if you're doing a theme park and are going to be at the park most of the time. I wouldn't spend the money for it unless I was going to spend most of my time at the resort.

I'm not sure what dates you're checking but the steamboat inn can often be had for less than half the price of Eden.

We just stayed at fairfield inn lancaster east. It doesn't have anything special, but I liked it because it was only a year old. I don't think you'll save much there, probably not enough to make switching worth it, but you could check your dates.

I completely agree with your assessment, I've stayed at both. However, when I stayed at the steamboat, it was $150 or $175 a night and Eden was like $400.

my point was that if Eden is $220 a night, moving to another place for 1 night most likely won't save you a ton, moving for the whole stay might. If it were me, and it was still nice and warm outside, I'd stay at Eden for the whole time.
Or consider staying somewhere else for the whole time if you'd like to save money.
I thought Eden was really nice, it had the spray area, a really nice pool et al... However, I don't think its worth crazy money. I wasn't thrilled with having to deal with the wedding they had with loud music I could hear in my room, the moved us but you could still hear it. When we went it wasn't super warm and we only got to enjoy the outside a little bit.

Re: Alternative hotel to Eden

Thank you all

W all the pricing and going back and fourth we chose to just stay 2 nights instead of the 3 since it was Labor day weekend and that slipped my mind
