Re: Wedding China
Biggest waste. Married 16 years ago, divorced 3 years ago and was used exactly 5 times.
I am currently selling my entire set in case anyone is interested

Re: Wedding China
Married almost 15 years ago and registered and received our casual, everyday dishes and fine china. Still using our Pzaltgraff dishes every day and over the past 2 years have finally started using our china. I use it for holidays and when we have friends over for a nice dinner. The china i registered for looks great with diff colors on table so I enjoy setting our table for Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years. I really like it now and am glad I have it.

Re: Wedding China
We registered for it - and got almost all of it, I host every holiday so it does get a good amount of use. I didn't get a very expensive set, Mikasa and it goes in the dishwasher.

Re: Wedding China
I loved mine then and love it now. Use it a few times a year, and I'm not Greek or Italian. Irish people are big on china too.

Re: Wedding China
I registered for fine china when I got married in 2006.
I'm glad I did. I do use it - for Thanksgiving dinner, dinner parties, Christmas brunch, etc. I didn't start using it until we moved into our house in early 2009. There was really no room for it in our one bedroom city apartment.
I think it just depends on someone's style and whether they like to entertain in that way.
But I also lived with DH for a few years before we got married, so we had the bare essentials. I did get practical items, too (nicer pots and pans, nicer towels, etc.), but I wasn't starting from scratch.
If someone is on the fence about something like fine china, I would say to register for it. I think people who attend showers still like to give those types of gifts, and you never know if you will want it or use it as you get older and mature into different living situations and styles of entertaining. Your wedding is a good opportunity to get some household luxuries that you may not be able to buy yourself later on down the road.

Wedding China
My wedding was 8 years ago and I registered for everyday china. I use the plates all the time but the other pieces collect dust. I have my husbands grandmothers China set that I end up using for holidays.

Wedding China
We registered for it and got all of it. We barely used it. I should really take it out when we have guests, but I never remember! Definitely a waste. We were young and really didn't know what to register for. If we could go back in time now, we'd have a very different registry.

Yes, still seen it registered and in 2010 I registered for it. I use it every holiday, just like my mom growing up.
