Congratulations!!
I love the city mini gt- my dd is nearly 3.5 and it is still in great shape- we used it with the car seat adapter when she was and infant.

So.....

We have the city mini GT and so far love it. We were debating bw that one and one of the uppababy strollers (the smaller one). A couple things to consider, since I know you are in Queens (I'm in Brooklyn): the one handed collapse of the GT is great. The UB had a much more cumbersome open/close (you needed two hands), and I thought it would be too hard to do while holding the baby to get on the bus or whatever. Also, the wheels on the GT are great for uneven city sidewalks. The GT is also lighter than the UB.

We use our bassinet (the deluxe bassinet) all the time, almost exclusively. But we had the baby in June, so we are out walking a lot, so not sure if it's necessary in December. We've used the infant seat a few times too (we got the cybex aton q btw) but he's definitely more comfy in the bassinet and it's not as warm (which of course won't be an issue for you). My husband loves the bassinet bc then the baby is facing us (he was a big fan of the UB bc the seat is reversible, but you can't collapse the UB if the seat is forward facing (you have to remove/switch the seat) which to me seemed like too much of a pain.

We agonized endlessly over a number of baby-related purchasing decisions, so feel free to FM if you have any questions!

And congrats!

Re: So.....

i'm a big fan of the uppababy vista, however i rarely have folded it and brought it in the car somewhere. we used to lived in manhattan and the vista was used everyday to walk around our neighborhood and was parked in our foyer. in the suburbs it stays in our garage ready to go also. i used the bassinet exclusively the first few months and had a winter baby during a super awful, snowy winter. we still went outside often. for going on the subways/buses/or packing a stroller in the car to go somewhere, after about 3 months i would only use the uppababy G luxe for those outings. it reclines to almost flat so with an infant insert, the baby did just fine in that. i like that the vista has options to grow with your family and as others have said the customer service is amazing.

with a suburban infant, i would probably end up using an infant car seat attached to the vista instead of the bassinet for walks and outings in the car, since it's so convenient to not have to wake a sleeping baby to go from car or stroller to house.

Congrats and best of luck!

As far as strollers... IMO Silver Cross is way too heavy. I have the Uppa Vista (October baby) and never used the bassinet. It's still in the packaging. LOL Plus, it's heavy as well.

I have the Uppa Vista, G-Lux, and City Mini. I can't live without my City Mini. It's not glamorous, but it's so convenient and easy to maneuver. It's the best! I keep one in my trunk and my DH's.

So.....

Congrats! I have the city select and love it, still use it with my 2 1/2 on long walks.

He was an October baby and I used the bassinet all the time, but when he was born the end of the year was unseasonably warm.

If you think the Vista is too heavy, check the Cruz. We have the Cruz, City Select and City Mini. I despise the City Mini and City Select. I absolutely LIVE the Cruz. Great basket, great ride.

love the graco click connect. its a travel system, but it detaches so its lightweight.
when the baby is in the car seat, it works just like a snap-n-go.
and when the baby is out of the infant car seat stage, it has a regular stroller attachment that connects.
I also like how I can put it in with baby facing me or out.
I am not strong, and I can manage this system. its held up real well too.

I still use mine because it's so light! It's not fancy, but I has a great basket and 4 cup holders

So.....

I've used the city mini since birth with the adapters that my car seat snaps into. We love it. Just got the double city mini GT because I had my second in June and loving it so far. We also have an uppababy g-luxe that we haven't used much. We got it for travel and like it, but we love the city mini so much 90% of the time we brought that instead.

I picked my stroller 5 years ago, so Idk what the best is now...I went with light and easy to fold. Never had a bassinet - I think I might have liked one, but I can't say I missed it.

So.....

Congrats. I only had the City Mini and used the attachment for the car seat. We barely used it after the first year and when he was about 9 months I bough a umbrella stroller that we used more often.

Don't go crazy buying a million dollar one. If you lived int eh city I'd say yes but in the burbs you are in and out of the car so much get something easy

Check out Uppababy Vista. The one I have is 5 years old and it's been used with two kids now and it's still in excellent condition.
I had spring and summer babies so I did use the bassinet. I also used it for the baby to nap in when we were at someone's house. To me it was easier since I already had it in the trunk, I didn't have to bring my bouncer chair or swing from home.
Go to buy buy baby and check it out.

Haha if she hates the vista she'll hate all strollers! Return policy is fine just don't go to the one in Garden City because the manager is the return nazi. My bff likes the one in Scarsdale I think?

Anyway, I ordered my vista on Black Friday from pish posh baby because they have 20% off including uppababy. You can't use coupons for uppababy at BBB. It shipped pretty quick and they sent free stroller toys with it.

I didnt read through the responses. Im a stroller hoarder and have a lot of them. The best in the beginning is the snap and go. It is super small and lightweight, and if the baby falls asleep in the carrier you never have to disturb them. The best.
Second fav is the City Mini (original). It is super compact and lightweight for what it is -- the wheels give it great support and a smooth ride. It has a great tray so the baby can snack, and the best part is it lays almost completely flat for naps with a sun shade that covers the entire seat. Only Con is you have to buy the parent console for the cup holder separately and the basket underneath isnt the biggest.
The Uppa Vista is a good stroller and has a smooth ride but I feel it is way too bulky and heavy. I bought it with the extra rumble seat, tray, parent console, piggyback board etc.... all the bells and whistles and wound up barely using it so far. I cannot stand having to fold it and put it in the trunk -- it takes up all my space. The sunshade is decent but I find that it doesnt cover the way the city mini does. I do like that the seat has many different recline positions and the baby is facing you as long as you want them to be. I also think the size of the basket is amazing and can fit a whole grocery shopping! I have the 2013 model and would be willing to part with it if someone wanted to buy it used.
Lastly i bought a sit and stand Graco recently and it is also large and a little heavy but still the easier and better option for towing two children in my opinion.
I also have umbrella strollers but those arent in the same league lol

So.....

I have a Bugaboo Donkey, City Mini, Peg Perego Book Plus, UpppaBaby GLuxe, Maclaren Techno XLR

Honestly if I had to choose only one it would be my City Mini. It's my workhorse stroller. I used it with the car seat attachment in the beginning a lot. It's easy to close, easy to push, has great add on attachments.

Personally I didn't like the Vista. I think it's big and bulky. We did contemplate the Cruz which I think it's a better option. Smaller and sleeker and pushes well too.

I love my Bugaboo Donkey for long walks. Air tires IMO make for the best push in a stroller.

If you go into the city try to go to Albee Baby or Giggle. They have all the high end strollers and the sales people are very knowledgeable.

If I could've afforded a Bugaboo Donkey, I would've gotten that. I got a GREAT deal on a Bumbleride Double which is AWESOME. Snap in Go in the beginning. I didn't like the CitiMini for stores - it was a wide turn and so long in the front I kept getting stuck on stuff. It was an easy close though so that was great and I liked the use of it for walks. PLUS, it has a HUGE basket underneath. I have the CityVersa (not made anymore) and while it's heavy, I LOVE IT!!!! That's my single stroller.

Baby bug boutique in Monsey might carry it- it is about 30-40 minutes from you. Also, Magic beans in Fairfield, CT has a knowledgeable staff.

Congrats!!!

I got the Graco Breeze Umbrella stroller to keep in the car which I was able to use with DS' infant seat since its also a Click Connect stroller. It is lightweight and I still use it. I kept the regular stroller that came with the travel system at home and used it for walks.
