Yoga for Dummies...?

I'm thinking of trying it out... and have no clue where to go...

I don't exercise much, want to do something, very much into meditation...totally uncoordinated and looking for some kind of direction...

I'm in western Suffolk, south shore - where do you go?

When I lived in Babylon I went to Long Island Center for Yoga. It's a small studio right in Babylon Village. I haven't been in a few years since I moved but I loved them. I can't imagine them not being good anymore because the owner is a so super nice. I miss going there.

I've been practicing on my own for a bit now, but I started with Beachbody's 3 Week Yoga retreat: https://www.beachbody.com/product/fitness_programs/3-week-yoga-retreat-beginners.do

I was able to complete the whole program using a month-long free trial they offered at the time, but you can still get through the first two weeks for free right now. The program is perfect for beginners and once I had the basics down I felt much more confident continuing on my own.

Highly recommend Satya Yoga Shala in Farmingdale. I did my yoga teacher training there and the teachers are amazing!! Very open to beginners and a very warm and welcoming studio.

I randomly came across this thread - but was wondering if you ever ended up trying yoga? I started about 6 months ago and no joke, it's probably the best thing I've ever done for myself. Mentally and in many ways physically. I hope you gave it a try! Chat Icon
