Alaskan Cruise

I'd love any info anyone can share on Alaskan cruises.

We are looking to go for my dad's 70th in 2019. Its going to be a large group with children ranging from 3-10.

Has anyone done this with kids? We'd love recommendation on cruise lines and ship info would be helpful as well. It looks like we have ton of research ahead of us.

Alaskan Cruise

Disney goes to Alaska. I've only cruised on Disney so know nothing about anything else. Their Alaskan cruise looks great though! So much entertainment for your children's ages.

I just read a blog of someone who did an Alaskan Cruise on Norwegian with her extended family and they loved it. I've been to Alaska (not on a cruise) and it was amazing. It's such a beautiful state.

fun!!! our kids are 3 and 6, and we've been looking into it, too- for maybe a couple years from now. one thing i noticed that you might not think to look at is the times you will in each port. Some cruise lines have really weird times in the ports- i think i remember seeing one that was in port from like 5 PM until midnight. or something strange like that. So something to look at. Otherwise, i think most of the cruise lines are good and very family-friendly with good kid's clubs and stuff. we're about to go on our third Disney cruise and LOVE them- just great service, entertainment, everything. BUT its also $$$$
BUT we also liked Norweigen, too when we did the Breakaway a couple years ago... check out cruise critic website to post questions, read reviews and all that stuff...

Last year we did a cruise to Alaska on Holland America. While entertainment wasn't great for kids (Shows etc) they did have a great kids club program that my kids really enjoyed and it wasn't too busy since not many kids on ship. There was also an indoor pool that kids enjoyed.

We sailed round trip from Seattle. We spent 2 nights sightseeing in Seattle beforehand which was fun. The cruise was amazing! One of my favorite vacations. We rented a car and did private helicopter trip to ice glacier in Juneau and then stopped to see Mendenhall Glacier. We did a private boat tour in Sitka where we came upon a pod of Orcas. And in Ketchikan we did Bering Sea Crab Fishing Tour.
