ETA: Do teachers know which students have vaccine exemptions?
Totally not meant to start a debate. I have always wondered. Does anyone know? I would think out of privacy no?
ETA: Thank you..I'm specifically looking for teachers experiences. Is anyone a teacher in West Islip, Bay Shore, Islip or East Islip?

I am a teacher as well, and although I have never seen this before, it may be available to us. We have a database of our students with "flags" to show us medical conditions that are shared with us.
So we CAN see this if it is shared by the parent.

We have their vaccination records-they are produced from our attendance system..to be honest, I always just file them in their permanent record and never look too carefully...I guess I could and then I would know (as in, if the vaccination record is missing). This is NYC DOE.

A friend of mine works in one of the districts you mentioned and said no. Unless it immediately affects the classroom environment (ex: IEPs, allergies, heart conditions) they can't see it.

It is confidential. However, sometimes the info trickles through. For instance, if a child is referred to cse, their physical is part of the packet that the teachers at the meeting see, and you'd see that they haven't received their immunizations on the printout from their doctor. Committee members are supposed to keep that info in confidence themselves. But still, they know.

A public school. Many of our teachers live and have kids in our district.
