Update: DD is here, and a scary birth experience !! Induction has been scheduled!
Being induced on 6/19 if little miss doesn't come on her own by then! It's really hitting me that I'll be holding my little one in less than 2 weeks!
Update: Keira Rose was born on Friday 6/16 after pushing up the induction date due to the possibility of cholestasis (I was having extreme itching on my hands and legs for 2 days prior to my 40 week appt).
We arrived to the hospital at 4pm, and was hooked up and ready for the cervidril by 5pm. Right before the induction, while DH was down in the cafeteria and I was ordering dinner with room service, a swarm of doctors, nurses and the baby nurse came rushing into my room and began giving me oxygen, pushing on the baby, making me rotate side to side and eventually having me go on all fours to change position of the baby. After all was said and done, the doctor came in and said that during a contraction, the baby "desatt" for 6 minutes and her heart rate would not come back up. They decided it was best to go for a csection, because at that time I was only 2cm dilated, and we were worried that if at only 2cm she was having issues, she may not handle full contractions at 10cm.
I was being prepped for the csection, during which my doctor said he would monitor me to see if baby had anymore desatting issues. After an hour, he came back and said that they did not see any other issues during the contractions I had, so if I wanted to go ahead with the cervidril, we could. So we decided to give it a chance. Cervidril was ordered and inserted, and I began contraction quite frequently after about an hour. My nurse came in, and said baby had 2 more desatting episodes, and that the doctor is on his way in to do the csection.
Needles to say, I ended up having an emergency csection. Luckily I was able to have a spinal and DH could be in the room during delivery. Keira was born, and it was found that she had the cord wrapped around her arm 2x and was holding on to it with her hand upon delivery. This was the reason for the heart rate drops.
She is perfectly healthy and we're all home adjusting to life with a newborn! All I can say is thank goodness for my doctor being proactive enough to push up the induction date, instead of waiting all weekend. We may have had a very different outcome if I was left to wait.

Whoo hoo! It's so nice to have the end in sight! I loved my induction experience- it was so wonderful to calmly check in at the hospital and get comfortable and kick back and watch some TV while they did everything. I think that may be the last time I relaxed...  Good luck!

Congratulations. I'm waiting to see when this baby will make her appearance whether she will come by her due date of the 28th or her induction date of the 5th.

Congrats! Something similar happened to me, I had to have a c-section for the same reason and DS came out squeezing the cord in his hand!!!

She's beautiful! So glad she's here safe and sound! Congrats!
My DD destatted during my induction as well, but I was already fully dilated and was able to push. She had the cord wrapped around her neck when she came out! So scary!
