8 year old hasn't lost any teeth - anyone else?

DS is turning 8 in a few months and he hasn't lost any teeth yet and none are even close to loose. All of his friends and everyone in his class has already lost at least 2 by now. Has this happened to anyone else's DC? Is it normal?

I would go to the Dentist and have an Xray done. Has the dentist said anything if previous xrays were done or at a recent visit?

My son is 9 (almost 10) and has had all of his "big teeth" in the front for at least a year now.
Same for most of his friends.

Def ask the dentist. My DS is 5 and at his last visit they said based on the xrays that over the next year he should start to see a loose tooth or two.

They should be able to give an estimate.

It's not unheard of. I know people who's kids had not lost any at 8.
Was he a late teether?

DS lost his first tooth several months after he turned 7. It has been over a year and he has only lost 4 or 5 teeth. Several of his permanent teeth actually grew behind the baby teeth. Needless to stay, braces will certainly be in his future. Meanwhile, I had lost all of my teeth by 3rd or 4th grade. I'd talk to the dentist just to see if there are any concerns, but I don't think it's unheard of to still have all of his baby teeth.

Me. I didn't lose a tooth until I was 8. I don't remember if the dentist said anything about it but I'm 32 and have never had a cavity. I've also never gotten my wisdom teeth.

I didn't lose any teeth until after my first communion - I was over 8.

My DD lost her teeth late, close to 8. Most of her friends lost 6 or more. Dentist confirmed with X-rays the teeth were there above the baby teeth. We were told to start wiggling the teeth. Once she started doing that, they started loosening and coming out and made room for the new adult teeth.

Perfectly normal. My son lost his first tooth at 7.5, and now at almost 9 has only lost 2 more. His dentist said it is better to lose them later. Keeps the adult teeth protected longer.

My son is 7.5 and hasn't lost any teeth yet either. They're in there like solid rocks. Chat Icon No wiggle at all.

He got his teeth early too - 4 months. Already has his 7 year molars too.

Dentist said not to worry at all. X-rays show all of his teeth coming in great. They also said the LONGER they stay in the BETTER.

Was he late in getting his baby teeth? DDs dentist told us babies that get teeth early lose teeth early.
