Every time I think we can't fall any further...
I know! This really upsets me. Is this making America great? America is a joke.
Pfft remember how he "drained the swamp?" He's a joke. He hated Obama so much all he wants to do is undo anything he's done. I hope it fails in senate.
Do we know what the likelihood of that happening is?

Right now the various news outlets are saying it will not be approved in the Senate as is. SO they will either revise it and send it back or flat out reject it. I listened to an interview with a Republican Senator from another state that said he will no way approve it. He said he does not vote just along party lines he will only vote for what he feels is good for the people. We need more politicians like him if he in fact does what he says.

IMO I think the bill will change a ton of times and I am sure the precondition part will change because heopfully they will see how many people are pissed off.
Even though it will most likely change everyone should still be making this a big deal so the represnatives can see how pissed the people they are representing are.
Also its funny that right now of course they are excluded from this new proposal. The only reason they did this was to try to proof to their supporters that they followed through with what they said when in reality they really didn't because it still has to pass other votes. Plus I would thing most of their supporters would now be pissed at them because they did a shittyy job replacing what they call Obamacare

Re: Healthcare Reform
Having seniors pay higher premiums just because of their age is bull$hit. Insurance premiums should be on a sliding scale, with those earning more paying more.
FIL, in addition to his medicare premium deducted from his SS, has a medicare supplement plan thru AARP that costs an additional 271.50 per month. The enhanced prescription plan is an additional $81.00 per month AND he still has co-pays on his meds. The man gets 1305 from SS every month and a piddly 450 from his pension.
How is he supposed to pay for everything else ?

Heathcare for seniors is disheartening. My dad pays the medicare premium that is automatically deducted plus an additional 100 for a medicare advantage plan that is turning into sh*t. He has copays for doctors and his prescription drug costs are outrageous. His copay for albuterol which has been generic forever is $55 while my copay is $5! His copay last december $3! It's so sad what healthcare is becoming in this country. Obama care has its issues of course but this bill is a tragedy for our country. And yet his supporters keep supporting him, they can't handle the cognitive dissonance that would result from their realizing the mistake that they made. Every day brings a new suprise of just how low things can go with Trump in office. I fear that trump has pushed the boundaries of what a President can do to the detriment of our country and fear that this puts us in jeopardy in the future unless changes are made that govern presidential candidates and an elected president.

Healthcare Reform
What infuriates me even more is how flipping quiet my FB feed has been since this was announced. All the months I had to filter through the litter of crap that was being posted through out it about how great he is and how great he is going to make america and today, NOTHING! Not even an 'OH SHIIT, what did I do?" They still believe everything that comes out of his mouth. The funny thing is I know more than half of the supporters on my FB page who are going to be royally screwed if this passes. Maybe that is why they are so quiet, they are still trying to let the news sink into their reality. Karma - you can ALWAYS count on her to show up.

I don't know if it's pure denial or what but in yesterday's conference they were acting as if it was a deal, their healthcare won and obamacare is completely dead, they were pretty much celebrating?!? If ppl didn't know what it'd required to have this new healthcare completely approved, they'd totally think it replaced obamacare and it's now in action.

its all for show to get their supporters to think they actually followed through with what they promised they would.
They haven't and even if they did I would hope that they realized the majority of them would be screwed if this actually goes through the way it is.

Look into converting to a Medicare Supplement plan instead of an Advantage plan. It might cost a bit more, but the coverage is way better - like for short term rehabilitation. An advantage plan replaces conventional Medicare, while a supplemental plan actually supplements it.
FIL is in a nursing home now, and is Medicaid pending. Fingers crossed it goes thru because there is no way in hell we can afford $460 per day for his care.

This is so sad. What a society we have created where we treat our seniors, children and poor like this.

Yes!
1. Many Trump supporters not able to "swallow their pride" so to speak and cheering at the prospect of losing coverage has me smh. Unless you have $$$$$$$$ holed up in offshore accounts we're ALL in the same boat. We're all on the same side regardless of what small differences we THINK separate us.
2. Trump. My fear is that this travesty has set the bar so low that we are screwed in the future of who can/will take future office. It's set a bad "president/precedent". I mean even a foreign oppressive dictator allegedly giving you a boost into office isn't a disqualifier anymore. We are fukked ten ways from Sunday.
