first mother's day

this is my first mother's day & I refuse to be schlepping around all day & not enjoying it as a new family of three. any ideas of something nice we can do that day? it doesn't have to be extravagant but just something to make it a little special. my son will be almost 4 months old if that matters. it's not like he can "do" much but I'd still like to do something as a family.

my first mothers day was spent just the 3 of us. we went out east to the wineries. great day!

For my first mother's day, DH and I took DD (who was 9 months at the time) to the Prospect Park Zoo and then the three of us went out to dinner together. I told everyone I'm doing what I want on my first Mother's Day and not schlepping around pleasing everyone else.

We got free tickets for the botanical gardens from the library and are going to do a picnic in the park and the prospect zoo across the street.

we have plans with my sisters on Sunday, but on that Saturday we are going to drive east and do something. Possibly going to the oar in patchogue or something like that.

My first mother's day (last year), we brought our DD to the church we got married and had brunch across the street, went home and relaxed afterwards.
