scary stuff- update at end
I'm fairly certain I was followed by a man (possibly 2 men) today while shopping with my 3 young kids.
A guy started talking to my kids famous footwear I thought he was friends with the worker bc he was talking to him when I first got there. I walked to the other side of the store and shopped for while (he had left). I walked to models 2 stores over and then when I was leaving he was waiting outside the door with his back against the wall of the biulding. I went back in models and even followed me in. I told the workers that I thought he was following me and they said they have had issues with him recently he was saying stuff to a female worker last week and then had an altercation with an male worker at models who was trying to help the female worker . The models guy walked me to my car while 2 other workers kept tAlking to him in the store.
The other guy who was standing with him outside Was walking towards us (coming from th direction of my car)
Not sure what their intentions were but it scared me!
Always watch your surroundings band if you Are uneasy about something...say something!

Very scary. Good thing you realized something was off. Thanks for reminding me to be extra aware when out with my kids.

Thank god you were aware!!
Public restrooms too!! A few years ago, I went into a restroom at a very crowded noisy restaurant. I went in the stall and noticed someone came in immediately after me and went into a stall two over from mine. I got a glimpse of the person as they entered and they didn't look right to me. So as I start going to the bathroom, I look down and over to see if they were ladies shoes (I have a habit of checking shoes in bathrooms for whatever reason).
When I look, there is a man ON THE FLOOR attempting to crawl from that stall into the one directly next to mine. We made direct eye contact, I screamed, and before I could even button up he was gone and out the door. It terrifies me to think what could have happened had I not looked!

So scary. Glad you're ok. I need to get pepper spray and a whistle. I was at the park the other day, it was beautiful out but I was the only person there and I was honestly a little scared. I had both kids with me. I felt like such a target.

This is CRAZY!!! I would've freaked out!!! I absolutely HATE using public restrooms for this reason, I'm always nervous someone dangerous will walk in. I ALWAYS check stalls when I go in, use the one closet to the exit and pay attention to my surroundings. I also NEVER let my DD, she's 8, go to a public bathroom alone. NEVER!!
Someone on FB mentioned a few incidents at Smith Haven Mall (which I go to ALL the time) where moms with young kids have been followed by 1 or more men and issues in the public restrooms as well. It's so scary that you even have to worry about these things. Like someone else mentioned, I'm even nervous to take my kids to the park alone and I live in a very safe, nice neighborhood. You just never know!!
Years ago, before I had kids, someone started following me in the supermarket. I panicked and wanted to get out of there but there was no way I was going to my car alone. I told the store that I thought someone was following me and they walked me out to my car and thankfully I got home safely but I was a nervous wreck. If you ever suspect you're being followed ALWAYS tell someone and get help, never think "it'll be fine" and end up in a situation you can't get out of.

Scary, and I would've called the police station and made a report. Especially if this isn't the guy's first time doing this! The store should be calling actually! Loitering on private property and stalking customers is enough for him to be told to stay away!

Definitely. This guy sounds like the town nut. Hanging around the stores, harassing people. The store should be calling the cops .

Yes! And if you suspect they've followed you while you're driving, go to a police station or firehouse. That should be enough to scare them away!

Re: scary stuff-
I feel like if someone was following me in a supermarket or store and I was alone (not with DD) I would turn around and make a huge ass scene and say- "Why the FUCKK are you following me you fuckingg creeper? Step the fuckk back asshole!!!!!" Or something like that.
But maybe that's not the right thing to do.
But I just feel like I'd be so angry and furious I'd want to out the son of a bytch.

This is so creepy. I have become so aware of this stuff recently. The other day I was at Babies R Us and this nice woman was asking about my son.. how old is he, does he talk yet, he is so cute, etc.
She was completely harmless, but I couldn't help but have my guard up. It's so sad that the world we live in has caused this.

An old lady was following my sister in the grocery store recently, and then just stopped at the end of the aisle and was staring at her and her daughter. My niece said really loudly "why are is that lady staring at us?!"...then my sister lost her. So weird!!!

Yup...it used to be that "creepy looking me" were who you had to look out for. But, these days, with human trafficking on the rise, everyone is suspicious IMO!

See I feel like making a scene is good thing. Like if they do have bad intentions let them know you are going to make a lot of noise, call them out on it, make other people around you aware of the situation. Don't let them think you are not aware of them. And if they don't have bad intentions but are just rude and staring at you like a fuking creeper, maybe this will embarrass them enough to move along!

I'm the same way!!!!! I think people are mostly scared of me because I talk very loud and will stare someone down if they seem suspicious to me lol.

LOL I do the same. And my resting bitchface is ON POINT! I have been known to ask people- "can I help you?" if I think they look at me too long.

Just an update
I called and spoke to the manager of the models and they didnt call the cops because I left and they had no information other than me saying he was following me
Last week the same guy showed a 17 year old cashier a video of him having sex with someone . They called the cops then
I called the precinct today and spoke to someone about it. They took it seriously and are looking at the store video tapes to get more info.
I'm still freaked out

The shopping center with the Michael's and Toys R Us? DH went to that Toys R Us with DD once and said he'd never go back. Said it was the creepiest shopping center he's ever been in and NOTHING bothers him.
It's weird because the shopping center next door is fine (or at least it appears to be).

Re: scary stuff- update at end
just last week at Eisenhower Park. My DD was swimming, I was waiting in the parking lot, in my car, reading a book. A car pulls up like 2 spaces away, man and woman, just kind of staring in my direction. When I looked straight at them they drove away, but right behind them another green van type thing with a grim reaper decal swings through, coming real close to my car. It creeped me out so much. I ended up leaving the lot and not coming back until it was time to get her. I just got such a weird feeling about it. With gang activity rising on Long Island, you never know. Always suspicious of what is around me, which is sad!!
