What is a normal monthly car payment?
I am wondering what other people are paying for their cars each month.
Anyone want to share? I am thinking we have lost our minds for what we are considering paying!

So many variables (type of car, base model or bells and whistles, how much down) but i will share:
For leases i have paid low to high 200s. I have small SUVs last 8 years some upgrades but not much

Well for our rouge lease we pay $260 a month. For our BMW we pay $675 a month. There's a world of difference when u consider type of car, lease, finance. Etc.

What is a normal monthly car payment?
Normal is so relative.
Dhs Lexus RX is $535ish
My GMC Acadia Denali is $565ish
There are so many factors though:
Money down (we don't put any down)
Miles per year (both are 12k)
Loyalty programs
Incentive programs

There is no "normal". It's going to vary based on make of car, mileage, how many cars the person drives.... If it's a payment you can afford and feel the car is worth those payments, go for it. If it'll make you feel better, shop around at different dealerships for the same car to see which one may give you the best deal. Consumer Reports is good for that as well.

What is a normal monthly car payment?
Depends on so many factors, cost, interest rate, term of loan, money down, lease or finance. I financed a 2012 civic in 2012 that I paid off last year. Payment was 290 a month with 2k down. Bought the crv in 2016, financed no money down payment is 505 a month for a 4 year loan as well. Both are the mid model for the year.

This is what i was going to say is normal
i've paid less on a car (used) but for a new car this is pretty much what you'd expect
of course it depends on your down payment, extras, cost of car....
ETA- both of our cars were around $430

Like everyone else said, it really depends on how much (if any) money you put down, mileage, trim line, car model, etc etc
We have a Toyota Highlander Limited AWD, 12K miles/yr, and no money down...............we pay $575/month.

I think it will depend on terms.
My DH is paying $809 a month for his 2017 Dodge Durango, but it's only a 2 year loan, bc that was the special they were running for 0%.

It depends if you are leasing or buying, what kind of car it is, etc.
DH pays $347 a month for his lease....Infiniti Qx50
I have no payment because my car is like 100 years old and has been paid off for 95 years now.

What is a normal monthly car payment?
We only have one car financed. We didn't put anything down bc dh prefers to have our cash liquid, and it was a low interest rate. We did trade in my old car, but it was only $1500.
We pay $765 a month for a 5-year loan on an Acura MDX. However, we keep cars a long time-were hoping to have this one for 8-9 years.

$479 a month for a 3 year 15k miles/ year lease on a Mercedes CLA250 and $650/ month finance on a BMW 135 convertible.

Leasing a car, which is just basically renting it, will be much cheaper than buying a car. Buying a brand new car is $$$ per month. Of course that depends on what kind of car you get, and your interest rate. But my car payment is around $500 and my SUV was about $33k new, so not very expensive. I put zero money down and have good credit.

Exactly! When you lease you are paying for only the part of the car you are using- 3 years or 36K miles or whatever.
That is why it is easier to afford a more expensive, luxury car if you lease

We lease two cars. An equinox and a malibu. We pay 187 for Malibu and 220 for the Equinox. We have a reidiculous deal b/c this is our third time leasing and with 2 cars at the same time you get a better deal.

I lease my Misubuishi sport SUV for $285 per month. 3 year 12,000 MPY. I plan on leasing again next year when it is up.
