Re: Mystic CT
I don't recall the prices but we stayed at the Marriott and the Hilton Garden Inn. Both were nice. I have a preference toward the Marriott bc I'm a sucker for a nice lobby lol.. but both were very enjoyable and very clean.

I would not go to the Comfort Inn. Used to be one of my favorites but I had an incident there that if you'd like, you can FM me for more details.
I prefer the Hyatt Place

We are going in May and unfortunately the Hyatt Place was booked solid every single weekend we looked at from April to July. We decided on the Hampton Inn after good reviews, but I haven't personally stayed there yet.

Hubby and I stayed at the Steamboat Inn for our mini-moon. SUPER cute and right on the water! Each room was a little different and its a bed and breakfast so they had yummy food and coffee every morning.

We always stay at the Mystic Marriott in that area. Its actually in Groton I think (not sure) but its a very nice hotel and not far....we stay there when we go to the casinos.

DD and I stayed there in October last year. The location was great. It's not as upscale as the other options but I thought the prices were really high for when we went and a few places were already booked (we went during the Rosh Hashanah break, thought I was unique in going away that weekend but no. )
Anyway, it was just remodeled and our room was really nice. There is a cute diner attached which we had a dinner and breakfast at. And it's close to the seaport and aquarium. I'd stay again.

We ate at that diner as well and it was very good!
We also stayed at Hyatt Place and while it was very nice, it was ultimately a room with a bed and a nice breakfast and really no other amenities - not worth $$$$$.
We also loved the Daniel Packer Inn if you're looking for dining recs.

We stay here too. They have free breakfast, and is right across the street from Mystic aquarium.

Agree, we were pleased on all counts. We also ate at the diner where you get a discount when staying at the motel when you present your room card.
