I've been thinking this from the first time we saw he had a drinking problem
Poor Kate thinks it's her fault. I wonder if they knew he was drunk? She's been carrying this all these years.

I think the plot twist is going to be he wasn't drink but is killed by a drunk driver

I feel like drunk driving is an obvious option given his history with alcohol so I almost wonder if they're just doing this to throw us off with his real cause of death.

it was obvious he was drinking and of course we assume drunk driving/car accident....
but... thats so overdone... and i feel like that is weak for his death...
i can't see that being the actual cause of his death because they already alluded to it but are they going to draw that out to next week? i dont know...
im hoping its anything BUT a car accident

Part of me doesn't think it will be that bc it's the obvious thing and this show does anything but the obvious.
Although I was expecting a note to Randall's wife in some way saying goodbye.

I agree. I also saw an interview with Justin Hartley and he said that Jack's death is not what you'd expect. So that has been in my mind too.

every press interview I am reading says it is going to heart wrenching and take us by surprise and then yesterday the writer/creator said we won't find out the way he died this season
so in short I am saying that it is not an accident going to see Rebecca
In this is us fashion would they just give us the information this easy.... i personally have not seen many of the plot twists coming (call me dumb if you want) .... i think that is part of the magic of the show is that they keep you guessing
so there is no way they just gave us a easy way out of the death ... waiting for the curve ball to come

Yes, I heard it wont be until about midway through next season that we find out.
I don't think it's going to be as obvious as a drinking and driving accident. I feel like there will be a twist eventually.

i think that was also the point. they didn't highlight their relationship...it was going on in the background

i think that was also the point. they didn't highlight their relationship...it was going on in the background
plus they did have that whole bonding over getting high scene where it showed they were so friendly and laughing together...!! and i think they discussed her taking care of his meds earlier... and how she cared about her daughters relationship with him

didnt they say they werent addressing how he died until season 2 or 3. So I dont think this is the real deal. but Im about 2 episodes behind so I havent seen this one yet.
