Kona Cafe for breakfast! pineapple Macedamia pancakes!!!! Chat Icon
Whispering Canyon Cafe for dinner

BE our guest is cool, not so much for the food, but just to see the inside

Sci Fi Drive-in is a great spot for lunch, and a quiet break from the crowds and heat

Liberty Tree Tavern dinner was amazing!!!

Character meals we like Tusker House at Animal kingdom (lots of neat options at the buffet. AND Garden Grill in EPCOT. its family style, so they bring the food to you, you don't have to walk back and forth to the buffet and worry about missing characters

Yachtsman Steakhouse was an awesome date night dinner

Oh yum. Kona for breakfasts looks awesome!

Was planning on doing dinner at san angel. We love Mexican food. The atmosphere looks cool too.

Be our guest for breakfast or lunch?

We like Be Our Guest for lunch. If you're on the dining plan, it is a quick service meal even though you order and they bring the meal to you.

We find the Sci Fi hit or miss. We like the Prime Time Cafe in HS.

We also love Chef de France in Epcot.

For "fancier" dining, we like California Grill, Citrico's, Narcoosees's, the Yachtsman Steakhouse and Le Cellier in Canada.

Thanks! We'll be doing the dining plan that gives you one quick and one table a day.

Don't think we'll do anything fancy with a 2 and 4 year old.

Was planning on sci fi for lunch. I know 50s prime is really cute, but I'm picky with food. I also don't eat meat, but eat fish.

We liked the princess breakfast at Cinderella's Castle (I think that's what it's called, MK)

Lunches we liked:
Yak & Yeti (AK)
Sci Fi Drive In (HS)

Dinners:
Boatwright's at Port Orleans Riverside
House of Blues at Disney Springs

Didn't really love either Epcot Meal (Akershus & the German place, forget the name) but both were fun experiences.

Would you guys do tusker house if you're also doing chef Mickey? I know the food is diff, but it seems repetitive with the characters. Not sure it's worth it.

We're staying at the contemporary so we're def doing chef Mickey. On the fence with tusker

For character dining: Breakfast - Akershus @ Epcot, Hollywood & Vine @ Hollywood Studios, or Cape May Cafe @ Beach Club. Dinner - 1900 Park Fair, (breakfast here is a ton of fun as well), Garden Grill @ Epcot, or Tusker House @ Animal Kingdom. For non-character dining: Breakfast - Kona Cafe @ Poly. Dinner - O'hana @ Poly, Liberty Tree @ Magic Kingdom, anywhere in Epcot except Coral Reef & Nine Dragons, Bongos @ Disney Springs, House of Blues @ Disney Springs, Raglan Road @ Disney Springs, or Boma @ Animal Kindgom Resort (not the theme park). No lunch recommendations since we are almost always back in the hotel room having sandwiches and napping.

I would not do both. The only character you get at Tusker that is not at chef Mickey is daisy. Our first trip we did just chef Mickey, our second trip we did both. I wouldn't do both again.

And Minnie isn't at tusker right? If we did both it would be tusker for breakfast the day we do animal kingdom and chef Mickey for dinner since we're staying st the contemporary.

This is exactly what we did, dinner at Chef Mickeys and breakfast at Tusker House. I did not like the food at Chef Mickeys. My favorite food at a character meal was Tusker House bc it had more than just the usual sticking with the Africa theme and Mickey waffles bc it was our only breakfast character meal!!

I would do both as planned unless you know you'll be visiting again and can do the other at a subsequent visit.

I honestly couldn't remember if Minnie was the one missing. My kids say she was the one not at tusker, but we did see her at AK at the meet and great. We did chef Mickey for breakfast on check out day. Thought it would be nice as the last Disney type thing on the trip since we don't do parks on check out. I didn't really care for the food at tusker house. I think we had lunch, but the menu is the same for lunch and dinner.

Tusker house- we went for dinner and thought the food was great
Be our guest- for lunch
Cinderellas royal table- we went for lunch, food was good and my girls LOVED the princesses
Via Napoli- lunch or dinner
Columbia harbor house- for lunch, its counter service but they have a grilled salmon that's really good and gives a healthy alternative to most of the counter service dining
ETA: chef mickeys gets mostly bad reviews on disboards. I woukd just do tusker house and then you can always meet with Mickey and Minnie together in animal kingdom at their meeting spot, it's the only place in the parks that they meet together. We did this and it worked out perfectly, they have a fast pass for it but we got there early and the line was nonexistent

We didn't do either of those, but the same characters twice wouldn't bother me. We did two princess meals and they were mostly the same princesses. We tried to do one character meal per day.
At Hollywood Studios, I would do the breakfast at Hollywood and Vine. The Disney Junior characters are fun. I would try for breakfast before the park opens so you have a lot of time afterwards in the park. Even if the park is open later, most of the younger kid stuff - shows and disney junior characters- end earlier. You also have to show up early for shows or they might get full, so it can be hard to fit everything in if you don't start in the morning and plan it out.

Get an app like Kenny the Pirate that has character schedules.

Re: Disney dining

For a character meal, we liked Tusker House (lunch) the most. Crystal Palace has a decent breakfast and it's great if you can get in before the park opens.

Be Our Guest was good for lunch. Starring Rolls at HS was pretty decent QS for lunch.

Liberty Tree Tavern was a good sit down dinner and the Sci Fi one was an interesting experience. Our favorite sit down dinner was Sanaa at AKL.

I've only had the QS (same kitchen) fish and chips and they are incredible. This place gets really good reviews. I wish I could try it but can't get DH on board.

Yes, we did actually. Nobody in my family liked it. I was disappointed. The character experience was cute but the food didn't impress me.
