Atlantis Resort - Cruise Excursion
We have a day here and the place looks overwhelmingly huge. What are the must do things? A lot of the slides look scary, and that lazy river looks crazy scary! So I'm not sure if we will do all of it. Was the aquarium nice? Which beach area did you like best?

Atlantis Resort - Cruise Excursion
We waffled for months about whether or not to book this $$$ excursion and booked it on the ship. It was the best day of the cruise! We stayed on thenot so lazy river for hours bc it was so insanely fun. The slides were top notch too especially the one that goes right through the shark tank. The aquarium was pretty dull comparatively speaking. Advice: grab your tubes the moment you get there and don't let them go. There's a finite number and they disappear before noon. There were hundreds of people all along the lazy river begging for your tube when you're done!

Great thanks!! Good tip about the tubes!!! Fortunately for us, this excursion is FREE since I used Marriott Reward points to book a night at the Atlantis Resort (run by Marriott now). I'm hoping for less crowds since only 2 ships are in port that day, and it's the "cooler" season (President's week). But we'll see!

Re: Atlantis Resort - Cruise Excursion
The lazy river isn't crazy at all. Our 2.5yo and 4.5yo went on it with no problems. Shark slide isn't scary. There is something for everyone. I liked the restaurant on top of the Dig. We also got starbucks daily at the water park or at Reef.
We hung out mostly at the Cove pool and beach but I don't think you can access those without staying at those specific hotels.

Oh good to know because the videos showing the rapids and tubes flipping over make me nervous!

Re: Atlantis Resort - Cruise Excursion
We loved Atlantis when we visited during our Disney Cruise. One of the highlights of our trip. Even though our kids were too small to enjoy the slides we still had a great time exploring and using various pools and the beach at the resort. Would consider going again for a destination trip.

That's a great idea using Marriott points! May have to do that as well.

Definitely look into it! It was 35k points for the Beach tower (cheapest)...but obviously we won't use the room. We will just take the cab for $4 each person each way. Plus we will get there sooner than waiting for everyone in the Disney Group, boarding the bus...etc.! I think they sometimes have a 2 night minimum at Atlantis, but since February is "low season", I think that's why it let me just book the one night.

They are letting me do one night in March too. Will think about it.

Nice! We don't usually get off in Nassau, but I couldn't pass this up since my kids always see the commercials

Atlantis Resort - Cruise Excursion
I looked up this excursion for our upcoming cruise and it's $150-200 per person!! Is it worth this price tag? My husband and I went there back in 09 on our honeymoon cruise but I don't remember it being that pricey! Has it changed much since then? Hmm

I would never pay that. But, you can book through Resort for a Day, and go that route. It's cheaper, OR you can book a room at the Comfort Suites across the street, and passes are included. Both options come out cheaper than through the cruise usually. Or, get a Marriott Credit Card, and earn some points really quick and do it for free!
Through the cruise...at least for ours...the meeting time as 9:30 on the ship. Then you have to cattle into the bus, and wait for everyone, and I figure by the time you get there, you have wasted an hour. Then, I think they make you go on a tour of the place, then you are on your own. That's a lot of $$$ for not a ton of time IMO. Our ship lets us disembark at 9:30, we will take a $4 PP taxi ride, get there quicker than the cruise, get our passes, then be ready to roll. We have to be back to the ship by 5:30, but will probably leave a 1.5 hour cushion.

Thank you so much for that website. $129 for adult and $94 for child is def better pricing! So then I'd have to add in another $20 each way for taxi... not bad. Do you think it's worth it to go there with a 5 year old? I also saw some regular hotel day passes for Nassau... wondering if a basic beach day would be better...

I think the price varies depending on season. Go plug in your dates to see. Yes it includes full access! Many people that vacation at Atlantis stay at the Comfort Suites for that perk

I can't tell you if it's worth it because we haven't been yet! But I can tell you when we get back! I saw the hotel passes...the cruise offers those also, but we are going to Castaway Cay the next day, so that didn't appeal to me that much! BUT, before I found the Atlantis free with marriott....I had booked Blue Lagoon beach day. That one looks nice! The inflatables in the water look fun for the kids and it looks calm and nice

Atlantis Resort - Cruise Excursion
We booked comfort suites last year on our Disney Cruise. Took a taxi to the hotel, checked in and then headed over to Atlantis to get our bracelets. It gave full access to Atlantis for up to four guests. We had 5 but under age 4 does not require a pass.

DH and I did it about 6 years ago and we both thought it was not worth the price at all. I did enjoy the lazy river a lot but I think we paid $150/pp NFL no lazy river is worth that lol.

Re: Atlantis Resort - Cruise Excursion
Depends on your kids' ages and swimming abilities. It's probably ideal for teens. I'm a good swimmer and some of the slides were scary. Some dump you into deep water. Lazy river wasn't bad...
Been to the blue lagoon twice from cruises... a bit of a tourist trap, but we got a bucket of beer and had fun! Water is very calm.

The room you would have to book at Comfort Suites to make it a value. The rooms at Atlantis are $$$. The room I reserved (with points) is retailing for like $700 for something absurd!

Re: Atlantis Resort - Cruise Excursion
I booked a day pass directly from Atlantis, it was cheaper than doing it through the cruise line or renting a room next door. We got right off the boat and headed to Atlantis it was empty that early so we had our pick of where we wanted to sit. I would say by noon it was pretty filled up and chairs were scarce. We sat in front of the children's splash area it was kind of in the middle, but yes the pool area is huge. We walked around and did the lazy river and slides. Lines for slides were long and my kids couldn't do the big ones (3&6)but my husband and I did some( my parents were with us). We did the dig on the way out it's not a huge aquarium or anything but my kids liked it. The hotel is beautiful and we had fun. It was definitely something I wanted to see but I wouldn't do it again at least until my kids were way older due to the cost.

Atlantis Resort - Cruise Excursion
We had an amazing day at Atlantis! Everything went smoothly and we were there well before the Disney excursion folks..we LOVED the tube slide that takes you through the shark tank. It was very crowded and I attribute that to it being Presidents Day. We loved the lagoon and my kids loved the water bike with the big wheels. The lazy river was scary to me but my kids LOVED it!! We will definitely book it again!
