All this talk of piping- I woudln't even know how to do it- sounds tedious.

I just slop it on with a butter knife

Poll - canned frosting, Yes or No?

I know people take great pride in making their own cakes/cupcakes and frosting... but it never ever compares to the delicious greasy taste of Duncan Hines!!!

Re: Poll - canned frosting, Yes or No?

No. I make a fluffy boiled frosting, or buttercream, or whipped cream.

If you pipe your own, do you warm it up or anything? I'm going to try this tonight.

Ummm, so could I.

I like canned frosting, and I've made my own too. Depends on what I have time to do.

Poll - canned frosting, Yes or No?

Mmmm yes. But I hate most homemade frostings especially buttercream. Makes me gag. I do love fondant.

Whipped Cream is a huge dissapointment too.
When I eat a cupcake I am expecting that yummy sugary taste of icing. Whipped cream is so bland
Save the whipped cream for the fruit or to top a piece of pie

I now buy an extra can to actually frost the cake because I inevitably end up eating too much of it!!

What do you mean? I don't make my own, but I pipe frosting from the can onto cupcakes and cakes all the time. I don't warm it, I don't mix it with a mixer, I just stir it, put it in a piping bag with a tip and voila

You can't buy the "whipped" stuff. Just buy regular frosting and it works fine

I mean, I prefer homemade but it's not like I'd turn the canned stuff down.

I love canned frosting. I've had some homemade that was good and some that was awful. The person who made it doesn't usually know the difference.

Whipped cream is not frosting.

I have no idea what piping is, now I must find out.

I make my own for cakes and cupcakes.....but I do buy the canned frosting to eat straight out of the can. Chocolate only, though. I have standards.

No, I don't like it and the ingredients are so toxic looking. Artificial everything. I make my own. It literally takes three minutes to make and I won't give my kids canned.
