It's awesome. We have a hacked one and we can watch anything. Movies, tv shows- everything. Just like netflix but WAY better.

Ok thanks, my son loves Curious George and all of a sudden PBS stopped airing it so now I am panicked and sick of the 6 episodes we have DVRd lol

Where did you get your unlocked stick? I see many on Ebay and such but would prefer to buy from someone who has experience.

Oh you will definitely be able to get it on there. But you can also get that on Netflix. DD was obsessed with Curious George for a while and all the episodes and movies are on Netflix.

I also like to rent movies and TV shows through Amazon Prime with it. I'm not the most technological person in the world, so the thought of renting a DVD or TV season and having it streamed right to my television is awesome to me lol.

I have one that I bought hacked. DH messed with it and wiped out the software. With some really simple googling, I was able to find how to hack it myself and have now done it for several friends.
It takes some patience to use the fire stick, but I love that you can watch anything- even movies still in theaters. Makes my Saturday nights with my 5 month old a lot more fun!

This! I just hacked ours myself last week! It's super easy and took about 15 minutes. I just put amazon fire stick into the youtube search and a ton of videos came up!

Hubby learned how to do it by researching online. So, he purchased the stick and unlocked it.

We have an unlocked stick, but still have cable. There are a lot of things I watch on cable that you can't get on the stick. We use it mostly for Amazon series, and old cartoon type things that my son likes to watch.

I didn't cancel my cable but I got rid of HBO, SHO etc, don't need to pay for those services. I can watch any show on those channels through the fire stick. I do pay for a DVR but I am going to bring that back to Cablevision don't need to record any shows either. On the fire stick you can watch any TV show with no commercials.
I used to be able to watch movies that are in the theatre on the fire stick within a week of coming out, but I find now that to get a good picture it is taking a longer time for the HD streaming to come through.

I did not cancel cable. I use mine for UFC pay per view fights and movies that are still in theater.

Pretty much you can unlock an app on the fire stick to get all the latest movies and shows that you may not get on tv. We watch movies that are still out in theaters or that are on demand but we don't have to rent them or buy them. You can go onto YouTube and hack the stick yourself.
