I didn't vote for him but agree with some of your points. Especially the need for a fiscally conservative/socially liberal party. I think many people actually fall into that category. I, too, would like a strong economy (I just don't happen to believe he's the one to get us there but that's another story), but I'd also like to see bathroom rights, women's rights, gay rights, etc. upheld. I would like to see less extremism in our govt overall.
I've been saying something similar for years. The DNC and RNC are extreme in their policies. Most people are centrists who lean one way or another, and sometimes in different directions based on the individual topic.
The Libertarian party's stance is to be fiscally conservative, but socially liberal.

I post primarily on topics that get the most responses. When you look at the posts, I have topics that span a huge range of topics. However, the political posts get the most views, and the most replies. If my posts about puns got the most responses, I would focus on those topics.
I just want to see more activity on LIF. At this point in time, political posts achieve that.
If everyone who hates my political posts started new topics, or responded to other topics, we could have a shift in what is discussed.

If the search feature actually worked on this site, I'd love to go back 4 years and 8 years to see if there were similar posts constantly venting negatively about Obama.
Actually, you probably wouldn't. I recall a LOT of posts being deleted by the Admins because they were SO EXTREMELY vicious. There hasn't been a thread on here that even comes close to many of the threads that got pulled years ago.
Anyone who only posted or checked every few days, or even once a day, would never see the threads that were pulled.
Just like in real life, the "Good Ol' Days" were anything but....

I got a response from client services saying they have to bring the topic of adding politics board to the owner.
I think it's a good idea, and I will do as much as I can to keep all political posts in that forum. We've been trying to do this for years. Glad to hear that there is attention being brought up to TPTB.

You know what is funny....on MOST of the news outlet pages, and various Facebook pages, the MAJORITY of the comments are people STILL bashing liberals and HRC, saying comments like "glad crooked Hillary didn't win, and other incessant rhetoric. Their candidate won, and yet they are STILL miserable human beings.
And of all of the news sites I read (left leaning and right leaning), and all of the comments sections I see, the pro-Trump people have the most vile comments against anti-Trump/pro-Clinton people, and just people in general... The other side of the aisle aren't saints, but they don't seem to reach the levels of the pro-Trump people (again, I'm using pro-Trump to differentiate them from Republicans) 
Absolutely! A level of depravity I've never witnessed before. One commenter said the protesters should be slaughtered, into a sea of red and call them late term abortions. From the party that pretends to be pro-life. Doesn't get much lower than that.

They should be THANKFUL they still live in a country that affords its citizens the FREEDOM and the RIGHT to peacably assemble for their cause. You may not agree, but it is their RIGHT to protest. I guess we can cherry pick which amendments we like and should keep.
Ask people in NK, Russia, China if they have this right. THIS is what makes our country great. FREEDOM.

Crazy thought...what if in the meantime all politics are moved to another board that nobody really goes to. This way they are in one place? I dunno. Just an idea.
