Yes, after the election when it was a hot topic. Haven't posted since then because I got tired of you and others pretty much calling us horrible people. I still check on here, mainly parenting and celebrities. It's just painful on the family board.
I love the women's march thread, that's what the board is about. But the nonsense posts are annoying.

I find it interesting- we will look back on LIF posts and see the current events in 2016-17 consisted of Trump! This forum is a reflection of what is going on. So is FB - thats what social media is. Its what is on peoples minds you cant deny that
Its an unprecedented time in history to have someone like Trump as president. After 8 years we are in for huge change. Of course people are going to talk about it endlessly! Wha do you expect?
I compare this post to me going on the travel board and never want to step foot in Disney so i have to weed through those posts!

The people who are annoyed at these posts just don't care that other people have legitimate worries and fears. They don't want to hear it. They want you to shut up. I don't want to answer for anyone but I think what she meant by real is everyday stuff posts. Not just political posts. Every board on this forum has a title. Food, TTC, FHF should be General postings that don't fit in really anywhere else. So it was the place to go for everyday reg postings.

Definitely not. But being kind to your fellow human is something most of us has been taught since childhood. It seems to have been lost here among the avid trump and anyone who doesn't hate him too haters.

I get it. Any post about the weather, how much to give at a wedding, what to tip the delivery guy, traffic updates... Those are REAL posts. Anything regarding people's fears about healthcare, the economy, their kid's education, public safety, the environment... All that stuff is fake because it doesn't concern you? Their fears are invalid? Or maybe you think their fears are valid but they should just run along now because it's dragging down the generally good-natured mood of the board. Tone too somber? Maybe that's because it is! And this is just a reflection of the mood surrounding the country. But you don't care.
BTW Nobody has posted anything that isn't factual. So it may just do you some good yet to read some of it instead of burying your head in the sand. Just because you support the guy doesn't mean you have to support everything he stands for and let him get away with everything he wants.

Yep, the constant bashing is uncalled for. It's actually childish. But the one protesting the issue was part of a secret group a few years ago bashing a lot of really nice people. Wouldn't put it past her and some of the others.

It works both ways  Just recently someone on the opposing side of the debate created a post to bash people who supported HRC. But, that's cool right? I didn't hear you speak up on that.

I have no issues with the posts (most of them anyway). I find most of GoldenRod's posts interesting even if I don't agree. The issue is that many people can not debate an issue without resorting to name calling and can not acknowledge that others can have different opinions. That is unfortunate.
