Can I get your opinion? LONG UPDATED
I'm not sure what to think. DH and I just started TTC again. My LMP was 11/20. I wasn't charting, but I was paying attention to CM. Based on that, I'm pretty sure I either O'd on 12/6 or 12/7. When I charted in the past, my LP was 12 or 13 days. I have had sore boobs since Monday night, some cramping in the evening and/or middle of the night since Tuesday or Wednesday and some indigestion. I tested this morning although it had only been about 2.5 or maybe 3 hours since I last went to the bathroom. I used FRER and IMO the line is on the lighter side.
I know a line is a line, but a lighter line makes me nervous. Last year, at this exact time, I was having symptoms and knew that I was pregnant. I tested at what I was pretty sure was 18 DPO and it was extremely faint. I held out to test again for 5 days and the line was much darker by that time. I started spotting on Christmas Eve and continued spotting on and off through the beginning of January. Then, I eventually started bleeding heavier, had a confirmed miscarriage by sono later that week and scheduled a D&C 4 days later. I woke up from surgery and was told that there needed to be further testing because even though there were no signs of it on the sono the week before, it was likely ectopic. I had further surgery that night and lost my tube, which was very close to bursting. I went through hell and a crazy emotional roller coaster for those several weeks and beyond. I'm terrified of going through that again.
The first picture contains the FRER from last year. The second picture is the FRER from this morning. The line seems darker from this year and I definitely tested earlier, but it still seems very light to me. WDYT? I plan to call the doctor's office tomorrow and I'm sure with my history I'll be going for blood work, but in the meantime, I'd like to hear opinions. Thanks.
Update: I had blood work done on Tuesday and today. My beta from Tuesday was 281. I know it's the doubling that matters, but that sounds like a good starting point for about 14 DPO, right?
UPDATE 2: My second beta, which was done 48 hours after the first, went up to 738. I'm going to be nervous for a long time, but I feel like I got over the first hurdle.

Based on your O date, you would be 10-11 dpo today. I believe your test is exactly how it should look based off of that O date. My BFP was that dark when I tested a week after AF was due, and I'm 15 weeks along. Call your OB tomorrow and have them monitor your beta levels this week. And Congratulations, what a wonderful Christmas present!!

I had a previous ectopic and my dr had me call to come in for blood work as soon as I got my next positive. They did my beta and brought me in for an ultra sound to make sure the pregnancy was in the uterus and thankfully it was. I would call your doctor right away and they will let you know what's next. I was told a repeat ectopic would be pretty unlikely but I was low risk for and ectopic in the first place.
I also just want to add that if gos forbid it was ectopic, catching it early gives many more options for treatment. For my ectopic I was able to get the methotrexate shot and never needed surgery or anything invasive. Congratulations and Good luck!

A line is a line! I used those same tests for all my pregnancies and they were super light. I retested several times for each pregnancy and all the lines were faint.

Thanks for the reassurance.  I just took a digital, again only 2-3 hours after my last trip to the bathroom, and the results came up pretty quickly. I'm still super nervous and probably will be for a while, but it was nice to get the digital confirmation.

Tests aren't diagnostic. I had a lighter line than that for a recent pregnancy and my beta was a very STRONG 200 something at 14 dpo. I also had pregnancies where a darker line was a lower beta. You really can't know anything from those sticks besides that there is indeed hcg in your system.
Trust me, I get the paranoia. I've lost 8 babies on this road with losses at 4, 6, 7, 8, 9, and 17 weeks pregnant, I get the overthinking and the worry. Bloodwork is really the best indicator at this stage, which I assume you're going for.

Aww it's definitely darker than last year's, congrats!! The sooner you get blood work and monitored by the doctor the better just to rule out any issues from your prior history. Best of luck to you!!

Congrats! I've had 2 ectopics and with each pregnancy, I called my doctor right away and they had me come in for blood work and sonos. If it's caught right away, you shouldn't need surgery again. Good news is, once I had my one tube removed, I went on to have 3 more healthy pregnancies. Good luck!

I think the new line looks darker than the old one and it's days before too. I think it looks great! I just want to let you know too, don't go too crazy with tests, lines and betas. My betas did not rise at all like they were supposed to and therefore my lines really didn't darken but now I'm pregnant and 35 weeks! So try not to get too wrapped up in it because I was convinced I was going to have a miscarriage!

Thanks everyone. I spoke to the nurse today and she's going to talk to the doctor about whether to order blood work. She said that the numbers may not indicate whether or not there's another ectopic, but she understood why I'd want some reassurance. I have a confirmation appointment on 1/9, which I'm not thrilled about because I'll be about 7 weeks and the sono appointment won't be scheduled until after that appointment. I tried to push for an earlier sono, but she said the confirmation appointment comes first. She's supposed to call me back tomorrow so I'm going to try to talk to her again about an earlier sono.

The nurse is wrong, the blood work can indicate an ectopic pregnancy. My ectopic was diagnosed early enough because my hcg levels were low and weren't rising appropriately and my progesterone levels were also low. I would definitely push hard for the blood test. You'll have to do it twice so they have something to compare it to.

Thanks! The nurse called me first thing this morning and I went for blood work today. She said they'll evaluate how to proceed with appointments/sonos once the results come back from today and Thursday.

Sorry, the update was in the first post. I got my number from Tuesday. It was 281. I got blood work again this morning. I know the doubling is important, but I think 281 sounds like a good start for what I believe was around 14 DPO.
