New FBI probe into Clinton's emails

Curious what Hillary supporters think about this. Let's keep this about Hillary. We know what you think about Trump.

While I had doubts on the first investigation that was done, it was over. Regardless if she wins in 10 days this could be a big problem for her.

Re: New FBI probe into Clinton's emails

I'm annoyed. I'm tired of the wasted time, effort and taxpayers money.

I'm not saying an investigation wasn't warranted, I absolutely think it was, but WHEN does it end?

Get your acts together! Why do you need 50 investigations, spending god knows how much in tax dollars?
How many times are they going to look at the same things?

Is your outrage really about the waste of tax payer money and not the information contained in those emails? Honestly curious. Don't get me wrong but the water money is annoying but the first investigation was BS and they covered for her. Now the FBI is caught with their pants down because of what's been leaked.

May I ask how you know that the first investigation was BS? As someone who has been interviewed by the FBI as part of an investigation AND knowing people who WORK for the FBI, those people know how to do their job. Sorry but I can't imagine them half-a s s ing anything, especially when it pertains to a matter of national security.

And how do I feel about this? Disappointed in all of it. The waste of time and money, that she was stupid enough to use a personal email server...

But I look at this whole email thing like... she was trying to get sh*t done. I don't know anyone who HASN'T transferred work email or projects to thumb drives or personal email to work on things after hours to meet a deadline or to work when their company either did not have the technology for remoting-in or for whatever reason, the system was down.

Editing my earlier comment because in thinking about it, it sounded a little ridiculous the way I wrote it... the main issue I now have is her use of personal email/server was systemic. Not a one-off to get something done.

Re: New FBI probe into Clinton's emails

I'm annoyed because the are the FBI - there should be an investigation, there should be a clean and through investigation, and everyone working there should have their sh*t together for the smallest of 'their' cases .......but for something like THIS ?? Something you know is going to be scrutinized and pulled apart and plastered all over the media and turned into memes and sound bites and 20 second Facebook videos ...... They should have done EVERY SINGLE thing by the book, crossed every t, dotted every i, and have been able to stand by it.

My outrages is due to the fact that they're basically doing the same work, again.
And even if their first investigation was legitimate, and they truly didn't find anything criminal ..........there's no faith in their efforts or findings anymore. They've lost credibility because now they're doing what? Backpedaling? I'm disappointed b/c I feel like they should have stood behind their original findings.

I work in a very large International investment bank. If I EVER did this, I assure you, I will be TERMINATED. We take quarterly training courses to make sure everyone understands this. It is NOT okay to do this. I'm very motivated at my job, and I'm not lying.

Exactly! Someone motivated to keep there job would use remote computing, not emailing private documents outside of a corporation. Large companies track that kind of activity and would terminate immediately, that's why I was so surprised that there was very little outrage about a govt official doing that.

I think today, in 2016 it's totally egregious. But there was no precedent before she did it. No one seems to care about that, and frankly that has to have a plce. Colin Powell used an AOL account when he held the same position. AOL!!!

As a Clinton supporter, that's the sort of fact that lends credence to the idea that she's held to higher scrutiny because she's a woman, that there's been a political machine trying to take her down from the beginning and it makes it that much harder to swallow all of the allegations against her.

I don't think there's a smoking gun. I think it has more to do with Huma and how it relates to HRC.

Government employees do not email work home either. You can be fired, fined, or arrested if you do so.

Re: New FBI probe into Clinton's emails

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/fbi-hillary-clinton-email-investigation_us_58138552e4b0990edc30cb36

WASHINGTON ? The FBI announced Friday that it is reviewing new emails to determine whether they are connected to Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton’s handling of sensitive government information.

The emails were found on devices belonging to Clinton aide Huma Abedin and former Congressman Anthony Weiner, The New York Times first reported and The Associated Press confirmed. Weiner has been under federal investigation over allegations that he traded sexually explicit messages with an underage girl. He and Abedin separated in August.

In a Friday letter to members of Congress, FBI Director James Comey said the agency, “in connection to an unrelated case” had learned of email that “appear to be pertinent to the investigation.” Comey said the FBI “cannot yet assess” whether the material “may be significant” and that he “cannot predict how long it will take us to complete this additional work.”

The Associated Press reported that the emails the FBI is investigating did not come from Clinton’s private server. NBC’s Pete Williams noted that the emails were not from Clinton and were not withheld by Clinton’s campaign.

So, the "new" emails aren't from Clinton, weren't on her server, and weren't directly involved with or by Clinton....

Exactly.
That statement about not being very motivated at your job by not breaking the company rules and possibly the law was ridiculous.

I can tell you for an absolute fact that no one when I was working in Corporate Banking used their own personal email for confidential work. If it was found out that we had client information or classified information on any email or device other than the Firm's we were fired immediately with cause and maybe more depending on what it was. If working from home it was done through a secure remote server.

I go back and forth between:

- being annoyed at her, that she had the private server, because she had to know it would come up later on.

and

- being fed up because to some degree this feels like a witch hunt. GWB's administration was just as bad, if not worse.

For me, in the long run, it comes down to the fact that Trump is simply not an option. I am concerned because I do feel she does stupid things out of a sense of entitlement, but I also feel like she is unfairly targeted, and should she be elected she will be obstructed through her whole term.

Ohhh I remember that whole thing with Colin Powell and AOL! You are right, it is because she is a woman in powerful position. I am actually flabbergasted at a lot of the comments I read on various sites directly targeting her just because she is a woman. It's sad really.

So crazy that they come out with this vague statement that there are emails that may be relevant with no actual details other than that they aren't even Clinton's emails! I think it's ridiculous.

yeah you may do that at a corporate job but you can't just telecommute or use a usb drive or email yourself stuff when you work with government networks. There are strict rules and yearly training to remind you, so I doubt it was because she was working her a$$ off.

You are correct, I have not. But I feel like the technologies exist NOW, that didn't exist even five years ago to make remote access of email, data, reports, etc much easier.

But in thinking about this... I guess the difference is her use of personal email/server was systemic. Not a one-off to get something done.

My personal opinion is that the bottom line is that no matter what, America loses and we are a laughingstock.

1. She broke the law.
2. Anyone who did what she did would be in jail.
3. Instead, she will still win the election and we will have the first President who was elected while under an FBI investigation, which will overshadow the fact that she is a woman.
3. This supposed new probe is a waste of America's time and money because she is untouchable.
4. If it were ANY other GOP candidate besides Trump, it would be a slam dunk for that person.

Exactly.

I work for a large well know financial agency. We are not even allowed to check our personal emails from our work computers anymore. If we ever sent work emails or information from personal servers we would be terminated. We have to do certifications throughout the year that remind us of the rules. I don't get what's so hard about following rules especially when handling sensitive information.

At the very least someone with a long political career and such an important position in one of the most powerful countries in the world should have enough common sense to know that the information and communication she sends and receives should be kept secure. It doesn't surprise me though that she thinks rules don't apply to her.

I am asking because I read something to the contrary... can anyone provide the link to a reliable source that describes which specific laws were broken?

I thought the material found in her email wasn't classified at the time she sent it.
