Gift for someone going through radiation

HI

A Mom from school shared with me that she had a lumpectomy over the summer and is about to start weeks of daily radiation.

We are not close friends but we speak at school etc and I know she has not shared this information with a lot of other people.

So I wanted to get her something just to show her that I am thinking of her while she goes through this.

Any ideas?

TIA

did she share if the radiation will make her hair fall out?

if so, maybe something extra soft and warm for the changing season... like a silk or cashmere head wrap or hat.

i wouldn't do anything edible because it is my understanding that a lot of people aren't very hungry during radiation.

I'd focus it on comfort, maybe some comfy socks, a blanket, a book, maybe an Amazon GC (if she has a kindle).

I think that's very kind of you.

I went through radiation (and chemo and surgeries)

A heartfelt note is always amazing.
Are your kids friends? If so, offer to take them on a Saturday or Sunday so she can have some relaxing alone time. Radiation can tire a person out.
Redbox offers gift cards, so you could get her that for some movies.
A really nice water bottle - you do have to stay hydrated during any treatment so this would be appreciated for sure!
A very loose, flowy soft top or two...radiation ends up itching like hell as you get more and more of it.

Avoid lotions or creams - while nice, you can't use certain products while getting rads so it's best to avoid that.

I would give her some kind of gift card for a local food place that delivers. She will probably be tired and I'm sure she would appreciate being able to order in food for the family.
