Both of my boys were in NB for 6 weeks, possibly 8 weeks.
My new baby was 8 lbs 2 oz, 21" long and he's almost 3 weeks old. I put him in a gap 0-3 outfit and it was huge on him. I would say get yourself some NB stuff. You will need it.

Both of mine wore NB until they were 2 months old.

I had NOTHING in NB sizes when DD was born. She was 6 lbs 8 oz and remained in NB clothes for about 6 weeks. I had to go out and get some.
Same with me. Everyone thought my son was going to be this huge baby and he was a 6lb peanut. Ran to target when I was home and got him some newborn outfits
And even babies who are 8 lbs plus still need NB clothes in the beginning.
i mean unless you are having a 10 pounder, I think it's safe to say the 0-3 months will be swimming on them

DS was in NB for about a month I think?
DD is in NB now and it fits perfectly - she's 12 days old. We had to order extra NB stuff - she was swimming in anything bigger.

It's really hard to predict how long they'll be in newborn sizes. My one grandson was a little over 6 lbs and wore NB clothes for about 5-6 weeks only because he was very long. My other grandson wa 10 1/2 lbs and never wore them.

My daughter was in NB for at least 2 months. 0-3 months and 3 mos were huge on her.

Not long. Maybe 2-3 weeks. They were born at just 7 lb 11 oz, but they gained & grew really fast those first few months.

my first dd wore newborn for about 8 weeks
my second less than 4 weeks. It depends on what your lo weighs at a birth.

My 8lb 4 oz DD about 3-4 weeks, my 9 lb 9.5 oz DD about 9 days. They both lost a little weight in the beginning too.

How long was your LO in Newborn sized clothes?
DS will be a month next week and still in newborn clothes. He was 7lb 3oz at birth. I think he has another 2 weeks before we can switch. A few 0-3 month stuff is just starting to fit and thats the stuff that runs small.

DS went straight into 0-3 months. We skipped NB. To everyone's surprise, he was about 9 lbs when he was born. My other two kids spent a month in NB, but not my third.
