I really don't get the fear of clowns.
Never have.
there is something creepy about them. I don't know. Maybe it's the stupid, plastic, dead expressions they always have. LOL
Are we talking about the kardashians or are we still on clowns?

The mature, reasonable side of me says it's stupid and silly and someone will get hurt.
The immature kid side of me who LOVES Halloween and all things creepy actually thinks it adds to the spirit of Halloween and October.

I just got a call from my school district that there was a tweet that my town was next. So now the elementary kids will not be allowed out and security has been heightened.
I wasn't worried about the clown thing and I am still not after the phone call ;)

I'm pretty sure that kids have been assaulted in other states, and there were also a lot of reports of a group of them trying to lure kids into the woods.

Reports of clowns haunting more than ten states have people on edge. And, the reports keep coming.
Friday, some schools in Cincinnati, Ohio, closed because a woman reported being attacked by a male dressed as a clown.
So, is the creepy clown epidemic serious or just a sick joke? Police are investigating a host of reports from South Carolina to Georgia, and have made some arrests.
South Carolina
Reports of clowns terrorizing people in South Carolina started in mid-August. One woman reported seeing a middle-aged white man in clown-like facial makeup and red hair standing outside the laundromat. The woman told police the clown stared at her as she walked out, but didn't speak or follow her.
In another report, children reported clowns were trying to lure them into woods with money. Residents of the Fleetwood Manor Apartments in Greenville, S.C., reportedly received letters from property management encouraging them to abide by the apartment’s 10 p.m. curfew, and not to let their children walk alone at night.
North Carolina
Sept. 4, children reported a clown was trying to lure them into the woods in a Winston-Salem neighborhood. According to two kids, the man had on white overalls, white gloves, red shoes with red bushy hair, a white face, and a red nose. They told police he offered them treats if they would come into the woods. Police said an adult heard the man, but did not see him.
Georgia
LaGrange Police in Georgia said it had received several calls about clowns “in wooded areas trying to talk to children."
At one point, a middle school was under a “soft lock down” because of creepy clown reports,
Mississippi
A clown call made Sept. 21 in Tchula, Miss., turned out to be true. Police Chief Kenneth Hampton said he saw someone wearing a mask, a multi-colored wig and overalls around 11 p.m. on Wednesday. The person, who was carrying what looked like a machete, ran away after seeing the patrol vehicle. The person in the clown outfit has not been seen since.
Maryland
The Salisbury Police Department of Maryland recently investigated two reports of clown sightings. Callers said they saw three people dressed as clowns hiding in bushes and jumping out to scare people on Sept. 25. All three were reported to be wearing clown masks with orange and blue hair. Officers weren't able to locate any clowns.
Colorado
Fort Collins Police Services and Poudre School District were notified Sept. 28 of a threatening Facebook message. The message, which threatened students at Poudre High School, came from a now deleted page using a clown profile picture. The Fort Collins police are investigating.

And there are plenty more. Some are hoaxes, some are just creepy, but some appear to be potentially dangerous....

Yes! North Carolina I think. Im sorry its terrifying. I live in NH our backyard is all woods. If i looked out my window and saw a fukking clown someone would have to call 911 cause Id have a heart attack.

I'm in Lindenhurst and there was a tweet out that said Lindy kids are next. The whole district went crazy! Schools were locked down and people are bugging out. They found out it was some dopey HS kid but still...its insane.

See, this is what i'm afraid of. Not the clowns, but that someone is going to perceive some dopey kid dressed up as a real threat, and they're going to get killed.

It was a tweet from an account called the Suffolk Clown. The profile picture was a picturre of Pennywise from IT and all he says was Lindy kids youre next. What the threat was implying I don't know. A scare or something more sinister. They figured out who it was and they have him in custody. I don't know if they have the original "clowns" in custody or if this kid was invovled with the sightings in other towns or if he is just a copycat.

I don't think I understand what's going on. Are the clowns just trying to scare people (like in a Halloween costume sort of way) or are they actually doing things that are illegal? I understand going to a school would be grounds for arrest, but if they're just hanging out under trees or light posts, what's the big deal?
Now, I'm not saying I wouldn't crap my pants if I saw one under a light at night, but if he's just standing there I wouldn't see that there's anything to call the cops for.

This is really disturbing. I'm not a violent person, but i wouldn't shed nay tears if someone decided to teach these assholes a lesson by tazering them or beating the crap out of them. Seriously, who wants to frighten people for no reason. So fcuked up !

Not sure how true it is but someone just posted in a Bethpage moms group that clowns were seen near an elementary school tonight and police were called...I'm not scared by clowns per say but undo find this disturbing

I saw one of these morons yesterday in Babylon. I was driving on 231 south of the Southern State. I noticed a white pick up truck to my right sort of slowing down so I glanced over. The mutha effer driving the truck was dressed as a clown. Scared the living bejeesus out of me. These people seriously need to get a life.
