hexes, yay or nay?
i was having a conversation with someone about having tarot cards read.
we're from very different cultures, so i was a little surprised to hear about the superstitions and "hexes" her culture does that are similar to mine.
this then evolved into the "my friend once..." stories of someone who knows of someone who had a hex put on them or put one on someone.
so that got me to thinking... what say ye?
do you believe in this "stuff?"
hexes
mediums
tarot cards
spells
have you experienced it?
do you do anything to protect yourself from it?

interesting question!
i have a set of tarot cards and have done amateur readings that people tell me are pretty good. I just read from the guide book BUT my great grandmother was a palm reader/fortune teller from the old country that came to Brooklyn around the turn of the century, and i'm told by family that people came from all over to have her read them, she was famous! I often feel that psychic power flicker, for various reasons. Please g grandma send me the lotto numbers will ya!!
Hexes. Hm. Well i'm undecided. Some folks wear the hamsa or a nazaris to ward off the "evil eye". I say why not.

yes.
my tarot card reading came true, done by a total amateur, but she put her spirit into it and it happened. she was accurate for more than one person.
went to a psychic, she was also right.
when i was younger, my friends and i did a "spell" to get rid of this toxic person who was bothering us. afterwards, she did leave us alone.
i wore a red ribbon on my wedding day to ward off some people's bad wishes. i would like to think it worked as i had a perfect wedding day.
i have a tattoo which is a protection symbol and :knock on wood: nothing majorly bad has happened to me.
i felt my grandmother die, 3000 miles away.
i can tell when my baby is sick even if i am not with him.
i feel when people i care about are in trouble, i also have dreams which let me know something bad is about to happen to me or others.
I also think all "supernatural" or "magic" things are just projections of our will. it's just a matter of how aware of yourself and the world around you you are.
