Movement slowing down in final weeks?

Did anyone notice that baby's movement slowed down/changed around 36 weeks? I still feel Chat Icon, and occasionally get a strong kick or jab or a few in a row, and there are still hiccups sometimes, but otherwise now it's more like slooooooow rolling, and sometimes I even miss it or have to stop and pay attention to make sure the baby is moving. I know it starts to get tight in there so I'm assuming that's why - but the type of movement definitely seems to have changed a bit.

Movement slowing down in final weeks?

I think I recall that towards the end. I remember wondering if I felt her that day at all and then poking the all around to see if she'd move.

Yes, 37 weeks here and movement has significantly slowed down.

It can change but you definitely need to keep an eye on it and not chalk it up to running out of room. Sit or lay down, have a glass of juice etc if you are concerned and if that doesn't get them moving always call. Hiccups btw don't count bc they're involuntary. I do think it's normal for movement to change some but it's worth paying attention to since it's your first way of recognizing if baby is in distress.

I definitely saw a decrease in movement. I always read that they'd run out of room but then I'd work myself into a lather thinking something was wrong and just when I was about to lose it- she'd give a few kicks to reassure me.

100%. And you wouldn't be the first person to call the OB to ask this sort of thing. If you're, concerned, give a call in.

I'm not really concerned because I still feel the baby, just differently now.

Having said that maybe baby was just sleepy yesterday, because during the night/early morning today s/he has been moving a ton :)

I'm 36 weeks also. My OB told me the other day that you should feel 10 good kicks in a 2 hour period. If you don't, then call.

Thanks. As I write this I'm watching my belly move as the baby moves around in there. Like I mentioned - the actual "kicking" isn't happening as much (though still is) but the baby is moving all the time - rolling around and wedging into my ribs, etc etc. I see/feel it pretty regularly :)

Yeah, I'm not sure what's worse...the kicking or the rolling of the butt right up into the ribs. So uncomfortable! And I don't know what this kid is doing by my intestines (I guess?) but the random, involuntary, uncontrollable farting needs to stop! Mortifying!
