I'm a patient of Great Neck OBGYN. Dr. Rifkin delivered my first daughter. LOVE him. He was amazing.
dr. Kaufman delivered my 2nd and 3rd child. He was also great. You have to see everyone in the practice during the course of your pregnancy so at least youll be comfortable knowing you've seen the OB before when it comes for delivery time (since you don't know who's on call when you go into labor)

I used to go to that group ( done having kids and found a Dr. closer to home)
They want you to see everyone in the group since you wont know who is on call when you go into labor.
Dr. Kaufman Delivered both my kids. love him. Dr. Rifkin discharged me both times, and the others I have seen for appointments. They are all wonderful.
Dr. Rifken did my cousin's C-section and she was very pleased and then Dr. Sadaty delivered her second by V-bac and again my cousin said great things.
Good luck.

Yes they are a great practice. The only reason I stopped going to them was because I moved to Brooklyn. Definitely would still be with them if I wasn't so far away.

Yes. Love them. Dr. Kaufmann is my doctor. While I was pregnant you had to see all of the doctors since any of them can deliver you depending upon who is on call. Dr. Rifkin ended up delivering my son....he was great. I highly recommend the practice.

Love them Rifkin delivered both of my daughters and they weren't straight forward deliveries my first was posterior and 8lbs 13oz and my second was 11lbs and her shoulder got stuck but he was able to quickly resolve that scary medical issues with no adverse side effects for either one of us. Now pregnant with my third, I would never consider going to a different practice all the Drs, pa, nurses, ultrasound technicians, and staff have been wonderful and are super friendly. I love that they do everything in their office so there is no need to go somewhere else for blood work, glucose test or ultrasounds - very convenient.

Re: Dr. Rifkin and Great Neck OB/GYN

I can't speak for Dr. Rifkin, but in stark contrast to this posting's previous responders had an absolutely awful general experience at Great Neck OB/GYN c/o Dr. Michelle Santoyo. In fact I was SO turned off by my overall experience (most notably — I will never forget being coldly told to "Get over it," in reaction to hearing my sobs after I'd just learned that I'd be losing my first baby) now that I am pregnant anew, I am researching midwife alternatives...which is what brought me to lifamilies today.

That said, to rehash my negative experiences in detail would be very traumatizing...as to do so would be akin to 'reliving the moment' (my insurance provider shared my shock and suggested filing a formal grievance against my doctor...which I will do when I have the energy...as on top of the poor physical care I received, my insurance provider is STILL fighting hefty, erroneously coded false charges on my behalf, a full six months after I lost my lil' one), but you'll find a "softened" version of my experiences on lifamilies circa February 2016. Nevertheless, I'd be happy to share additional details privately.

Within my prior posting I'd also explained:

"Given the reputation of the rest of the practice...had the sonographer not been so terrible as well. I mean seriously....I'm sitting there sobbing on the exam table with nothing to clean up my lady parts or tears with while she's cleaning up little equipment messes. (I took off my shoes and used a sock to wipe myself 'down there' as well as my crocodiles.) And had the billing & administrative departments had their act together...I'd have considered switching to an alternate physician in the practice. but given the circumstances, I will not be returning to Great Neck OB/GYN. Nor would I personally recommend Dr. Santoyo to anyone else."

Am glad others who posted here had positive outcomes.

Wishing you and all future mamas very happy, complication-free, wonderful pregnancies.

I'm really sorry that you had a bad experience. During my first pregnancy in Nov. 2014 I lost the baby. There was no heartbeat at my 16 week appointment and the doctor (dr. Kaufmann) and sonographer and the whole staff was amazing and kind.

Re: Dr. Rifkin and Great Neck OB/GYN

A friend of mine I met in the NICU had her baby prematurely and felt that she was treated very insensitively and improperly by this practice. These doctors didn't even say a word to her as they passed each other in the halls of the hospital while she and her husband were walking to the NICU. She was so traumatized by how the doctors handled her situation and birth that she needed to be calmed down before she could even go visit her baby. By contrast, she saw my doctors who were very caring and came to check on us and it highlighted how different her experience was.

DWKS10,

I'm not surprised your friend was treated this way. Similarly, NO one from Great Neck OB/GYN ever called, wrote or followed up to see how I was doing after my presumed loss. And I say 'presumed' for while I was told I'd be losing my little one, I opted to let nature versus medical intervention take its course — just in case. However once I stopped making Great Neck OB/GYN money I was promptly forgotten. It's as if I'd become nothing more than a defective baby-making statistic.

Insensitive, indeed.

On another disturbing note, at my very first 8-week appointment with Dr. Santoyo, before I'd even had an ultrasound I'd mentioned that based on a variety of text-book symptoms combined with an inordinate amount of extra stress, I believed I might have low progesterone and asked about taking supplements as a precaution. Dr. Santoyo poo-pooed the idea and spouted one of her favorite catch phrases, "don't believe everything you read on the internet" all the while providing very, very little all-around info of her own.

Conversely, as I'm still searching for a forever pregnancy #2 provider, this week at my 5-week mark I proactively visited Great Neck's CityMD to obtain an early beta/prog panel ($105 for the visit + roughly $54 for the panels, for the curious). When I learned the results (high HCG/low progesterone), I made another appointment in Brooklyn with a fem care walk-in clinic which based on my history and results confirmed they'd prescribe me with progesterone supplements (CityMD cannot) as long as I agreed to suppositories which are purported to be more effective. The NP/CNM there was SO SO SO nice to me over the phone, I nearly cried when I met her in person. Unlike Dr. Santoyo, she was incredibly kind, anticipated questions by offering lots of helpful information, valued rather than disdained my research and didn't treat me with condescension. She also agreed that supplements could potentially help but definitely wouldn't harm me or the baby/ies, since based on my numbers she says I may be carrying twins! (In fact the receptionist overheard us speaking, chimed in later, and said that progesterone supplements had saved all THREE of her pregnancies after a history of losses.) Furthermore, to allay my fears, the NP/CNM offered to perform an early sonogram and affirmed that everything is looking good so far this time. (An experience which will always leave me wondering, "What if..." c/o Great Neck OB/GYN.)

Hope your friend's baby became a healthy, cheeky, roly poly bundle of joy. Yours too, of course.
