Some days I hate the human race.....Venting...
Went to Walmart this morning with my kids, (2 and 4). While getting in the car, my 4 year old goes around and gets in his side. He is oblivious to life and left his door open. So now I'm putting my 2 year old in his carseat and hear loud talking, notice the car next to me is backing out. So I yell to my 4 year old to shut his door. Well, the man in the passenger seat yells "Theres no one even ******* there" And slams my door shut through the window. Now 1. My 4 year olds foot could have been there, his hands his head etc. 2. You couldn't wait 1 minute, this was literally less than a minute of time passing. 3. DON"T ******* TOUCH MY CAR!
So i yell to him "You really have to curse and slam MY door, he is 4" As they drive away the woman driving yells at me to teach my kid respect, and how to close his door. Really?! Closing his door is a respect thing. He is ******* 4. She should teach her husband respect on how to not touch other peoples belongings and yell at children. And have some damn patience.
I am so mad. I am sad that these people coexist in a world with my kids.

Grrrr! That is so annoying and I feel for you. I hate those days when one person ruins it.
One morning I was at the mall when DS was about 3 years old. It was about 15 mins or so before the mall was even opened, but went early since we were out already. No one was in the mall. DS and I was walking down the hall, which was pretty empty and large. He was walking a couple of steps behind me and I had an eye on him and could here him, but was literally taking his time doing his own thing. A woman comes storming past him, almost walks into him and yells at me to keep a better eye on my kid bc he was in here way. I was like.... really? There is NO ONE in the mall and you picked the one spot to almost walk into my son when the hall was huge at the mall. Grrr! Pissed me off for the day.

Um, unless that person was bleeding out and needed to get to the hospital, that was completely unacceptable.
People need to just slow the F down in life in general. Everyone is such a rush that they forget to be decent to others.

I would have flipped out on this person. My girls do that sometimes too and one always puts her foot in the way and I am always looking for it. People are such A$SHOLES!
Parking lots are awful everywhere! A few weeks ago I was walking to my car and a lady pulled into a spot which I waited for her to do. She was now in the spot and we started walking, well she didn't look and went to back out I guess to straighten out her car and she almost hit us. I had to lift one of my girls to make sure she didn't get hit. People just do not look and are in such a damn rush all of the time.

I would be upset too but I think 4 is too young to go on their side of the car alone to jump in (in a crowded parking lot)
The only time I let my kid do that alone is if it's an empty parking lot with no traffic - because like others said, people drive nuts and things can go wrong in a second. It's less about worrying about my kid and more about worrying
About nutty and distracted drivers and people who just shouldn't drive at all. I hate parking lots in general.
In the future, maybe have your 4 year old jump in on the side you're about to put your 2 year old in. Makes life easier and no door issues. Not saying you were wrong or judging, but just something I do that I found helpful. :)

WOW. Just wow. I'm honestly SO mad for you right now. What @ssholes!! People need to learn patience and compassion. He's a kid. And if they were in such a rush they could have simply gotten out of their car and politely asked you if you could close your door so they could back out. No need to yell, curse, and slam SOMEONE ELSE'S car door.
I'm right there with you. People suck.

I totally agree. I let my DD climb through if we have to. I don't want her opening her own door and bumping it into the car next to us. That other driver sounds crazy.

I had something similar happen to me in a parking lot. It got very ugly with the guy literally chasing me and my daughter through the parking lot in his car trying to intimidate me as if he was going to run us over. I was shaking so bad I couldn't even breathe. And to boot he had his wife and kids in the car with him. People are effing crazy.

a few years ago, DS was little and I too was getting him in his seat. I had my front passenger door open and was getting him in the back. I dont remember why I had my front passenger door open, other than to load the bags in and just forgot, but this old dude slams it while Im getting DS in the back b/c it was in his way.
I said "yeah I bet if my husband were here you wouldnt have touched that door. " and he just mumbled and got in his car.

I should have clarified, i watched him get in on his side from the front of the car, he was in so i walked around the otherside.

What is this world coming to? This guy is a Jerk. Of all the things to be nasty about, he chooses this? I am sorry this happened to you.
My family makes fun of me, but I do ALL of my shopping online. I never go to the stores. One reason is time, the other is because of azzholes like this. I hate dealing with people on the road, in parking lots, in stores. No one is nice anymore.
