Ughhhhh sucky situation. Because children are involved I would speak up. God forbid something happened to them. But it's really just hearsay and I'd be open about that.

Wow! If she is doped up while watching kids, that is nuts! Really nuts! I don't know what I would do....I couldn't stand by and do nothing though. Imagine she hurt the kids or something, and no one who knew she was an addict spoke up?

Is there anyone else you could ask? If she wasn't doing that and you wrote or spoke about it causing her harm, I could see her suing you. You are in a no win situation.

Depending on how many kids she's watching, she may be in violation with the New York State Office of Children and Family Services. If you watch a certain amount of children (other than your own) you must be licensed according to the state. Calling OCFS first might be a good starting point. They can investigate and go from there.
And as a parent, I would want to know.

Since there are kids possibly involved, you could make an anonymous phone call to CPS. They can do an investigation and if it's unfounded then technically nothing should really happen. If it's founded however, I'm sure she'd lose all of her clients and/or would have to jump through hoops to work with kids again.

Cps call. The least they will do is investigate. If it's true then those children will be safe. What happens if it is true, no one says anything and a child dies? Could you live with yourself? Sorry once kids are involved it's no longer a myob situation. Too many people myob when it comes to kids and there are too many nightmare stories we have all heard and/or read about.
