Fun Family Day out Nassau / Suffolk border
Hi
I am trying to organize a get together in the next few weekends - just a day event for about 4 families.
One is coming from queens, one from nassau and two from suffolk - one all the way out east on the north fork.
We would like to meet around half way for everyone..somewhere fun for the kids to run around - outside preferably and somewhere close by for a casual lunch.
Any ideas spring to mind?

Maybe a picnic in bethpage state park? They have a playground and picnic tables

a picnic at coe hall of oyster bay
Theodore Roosevelt Nature Center @ Jones beach holds fun family days and not very $$
Wall climbing in Plainview
Go Carts in Melville a bit $$
