How far in advance can you book Disney?

I think I've finally convinced dh to go next November (2017). How far in advance do people typically book?

You can book a room 499 days in advance so you've got a couple of months.

Packages are less time I believe but not sure because I never tried to book one.

The price wouldn't be final yet for either, though. You'd have to wait until they release prices for 2017.

mousesavers.com has really good info on this stuff - dates that packages are historically released, etc.

As far as when people typically book, it depends. If you care about restaurants, you want to book six months in advance or more because reservations open 180 days out.

Our last two trips were during Feb. break and we booked both the previous summer. That's more because I'm a teacher, though, and have more time to plan in the summer.

If you are picky about your hotel, you'll also want to book far in advance.

Re: How far in advance can you book Disney?

Packages for 2017 will be out in June or July of this year (based on prior years. I have no official word yet). I recommend booking at least 7-8 months in advance. This gives you enough time to get all of your plans in order in time to make dining, tour and BBB, etc reservations done right at the 180 day mark.

It's not typically worth it to book the RO at 499 days because then you have to actually cancel it and rebook a package. The only time it's advisable is if you're traveling in early January and your 180 may fall before packages come out.
