Can we do anything about cars driving past stopped school bus?
DH puts DS on the bus each morning. He's in pre-k, so it's a little bus. Several times a week, both at pick up and drop off, cars will ignore the stop sign on the bus and keep driving. Today he yelled at a guy to stop, the guy just looked at him and kept driving. This is a neighborhood with a lot of kids.
The bus drivers will take pictures of license plates, his afternoon driver yelled at a woman who said she, "didn't see the bus." When I was in kindergarten a little girl was hit by a car and injured by a guy who ignored the stop sign, so I'm sensitive to this. Is there anything we can do?

I would reach out to your neighborhood law enforcement. Maybe there is a place where a squad car can sit and issue tickets. From what you describe it would be a gold mine for them, and more importantly would increase safety.

Do THIS! We had the same issue with people (likely commuters on their way to the train station) passing the bus on the right side on a single lane. Several parents called the local precinct and they had an unmarked police car on the road where it was happening. We saw the cop pull the person over right after they did it again one morning.

when I was in camp our bus driver had the same issues. People driving past causing a safety issue. Our bus driver started stopping the bus on the diagonal crossing over forcing cars in both directions to stop.
It worked everyday and we were able to cross the st.

Call your local precinct. They should send a car to sit there. I'm oos but our drivers are able to take down license plates and send to the police to issue tickets. It's a terrible thing people do. How do you not stop for a bus? It's happens every day people are crazy.

i'd would say call the cops, but i've had it where it was the cop who passed the bus. (and it wasn't just once... busy road, right by the police station, cops don't stop for the bus either.)

Have your local precinct send a car to monitor the situation. They will never play around with the safety of children!

Horrible. I hate when people do it. I will be honest one time on my way to work my mind was wandering and I went past one as soon as it happened I realized what I did and was sick to my stomach :sad:

This drives me nuts! Especially when I'm stopped behind a bus and the chooch behind is beeping at me to go. Really??!!
