lifetime fitness
hi,
i went to lifetime fitness garden city location today, and tried out the facility for 1 day pass.
price is 339/month for 2 adult + 2 kids.
149 is the admin fee and whatever the enrollment free of 300 is waived.
so at the end,
149 (its basically 99 + 49 for 2 adults) admin fee, and thereafter 339/mth.
i really like the place, and have tried to haggle down the admin fee, and monthly, but no luck. A friend of mine joined recently and also tried haggling but without success.
would like to know if that is how it is, and if other member have joined recently and how much you are paying.

I'm in Westchester and ours is over $500 a month for a family of 4  That said, everyone I know who belongs there loves it.

That's what I pay per month to lease out our luxury SUV.
Yeah um, no way would i pay that for a gym.!

I feel the same..hard to pay that amount when I can walk outside etc.

Seriously, I need to know. I went to their website and it looks like a regular gym. Not sure why anyone would pay $500/mo for it, I want to know what I am missing. Do they wipe the sweat from your brow while you are working out? Do they fan you and follow you around with lemon infused ice water, like what????

big gym, big locker, clean lockerroom, new machines.
have a kids center where you can drop off and they have people watching your kids. everyday have full of activities class for kids and weekends. (arts, baskerball, tkd, rock climbing, gymnastics)
3 indoor heated pool with one of them from 0 depth to max 3feet.
giant outdoor pool with water slides in summer time.
its not really categorized as a gym but more of a club to me.
spa, cafe, even a salon inside...
towels, locks, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, life jacket for kids...etc... you just wear sneakers and go in, and all equipment is inside for you...

I had been a member at lifetime in Syosset since it opened 4 yrs ago but recently we decided to leave... We loved it when the kids were little. Their kids club was amazing while I worked out. There classes are top notch and so were the instuctors...I totally miss my Zumba and 50/50 class! The poolclub was amazing..... We could spend the entire day there at one point..
The cafe was great.... It is a scene however that did not bother me... Yes, all the women are wearing lulu lemon. But my old navy sport did the trick for me..
The reason we left is that since living in Dix Hills, and my kids are older I was not getting there as much... I was paying $240 for the family of 4 back then... Now I belong to Suffolk y and paying 83 a month for a family of 4..It works for me and my schedule..
If they were ever to open up one in Commack or closer to me I would join in a heartbeat...
The crowd is definately, Syosset, Jericho, Plainview,old bethpage and some Melville Dix Hills...
I had heard some stuff about adult activities too.. ??....
